Casio Unveils the Handcrafted G-Shock MRG-B5000HT Featuring a Stunning Hammertone Design

Casio has just unveiled the limited edition MRG-B5000HT, a spectacular addition to their lineup known for integrating traditional Japanese craftsmanship with modern technology. This timepiece shines with a unique “tsuiki” or hammered texture on its titanium bezel and band, crafted by a single skilled artisan in Japan. With only 500 pieces available, each features an anti-reflective sapphire crystal and a diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating, offering enhanced durability and scratch resistance.

Rumors surrounding a new square MR-G series G-Shock have been confirmed with this exclusive launch. The watch’s hammertone pattern isn’t only aesthetically pleasing—it’s crafted from a robust titanium alloy. This attention to detail continues with a complex, multi-component case structure consisting of 25 interlocking pieces providing superior shock resistance. Unlike Casio’s more affordable models, this watch incorporates spring-like components for added durability and a striking copper-colored finish on selected components like screws and the screw-lock case back.

The standout feature is undoubtedly the ‘tsuiki’ pattern, an ancient metal-shaping technique that makes each piece unique. With a module that’s powered by Tough Solar technology, it’s equipped with Bluetooth connectivity, Multiband 6 for atomic clock syncing, and a host of other functionalities such as a world time feature, stopwatch, countdown timer, and alarms. Despite its solid titanium construction, the watch remains lightweight at just 112 grams.

This MR-G series watch carries a premium price tag reflecting its unique attributes, priced at 935,000 yen (around $6,387 USD) in Japan. It is scheduled for release this August, with limited availability expected in other regions. Each watch is a testament to the craftsmanship of artisan Kazuya Watanabe, who has meticulously finished all 500 pieces, ensuring each one possesses its own distinctive charm.
