Casio Unveils A130 Series: Four Budget-Friendly Retro-Futuristic LCD Watches for February 2025, Now Available for Preorder

Earlier in the year, excitement brewed as the Casio A130 series, inspired by the classic Seiko G757, took center stage. Initially reported as making its debut in March, updated insights now suggest that these trendy timepieces are set to launch sooner, in February 2025. This collection features four distinct models: the A130WE-1A, A130WE-7A, A130WEG-9A, and the A130WEGG-1A, each embracing a retro-futuristic aesthetic reminiscent of the 1980s digital-analog hybrids.

The hallmark of the A130 series is its striking design, showcasing a large LCD for time display, complemented by an analog-style graphical home time display, alongside a mini section for various functions. True to Casio’s dedication to user-friendly features, each watch is equipped with an LED backlight for convenience.

With dimensions of 40.5mm by 33.9mm and a sleek weight of 54g, these watches strike a balance between compactness and stylistic flair. Built with a sturdy resin case and bezel, they’re coupled with stainless-steel bracelets that feature a free-adjustment clasp for optimal comfort.

Functionality is a cornerstone of the A130 lineup, prominently featuring capabilities that enthusiasts have come to expect from Casio. The watches offer world time access for 48 cities and support multiple time zones. Additionally, they include a stopwatch with split timing, a countdown timer, five daily alarms, and a fully automated calendar. Users can toggle between a 12 or 24-hour display format, and enjoy a selection of LED backlight durations, either 1.5 seconds or 3 seconds. A reliable CR2016 battery powers these gadgets, promising a lifespan of up to three years.

Aesthetically, the A130WE-1A and A130WE-7A models shine in a traditional silver tone. For those seeking a touch of luxury, the A130WEG-9A offers a gold-tone finish, while the A130WEGG-1A captivates with a bold gunmetal finish, lending a sleek and darker look. Priced considerately, the standard models are available for approximately $57, while the gold and gunmetal models, offering a premium touch, are slightly higher at around $71.

Casio has assured potential wearers of basic splash resistance, categorizing these models as “waterproof for daily use.” However, they’re not built for extensive water exposure or underwater adventures akin to some robust diving watches.

With a February 2025 release imminent, these watches are already available for reservation through their official channels, poised to capture the hearts of watch enthusiasts worldwide.
