Capcom has revealed its Gamescom 2026 plans, and the publisher is preparing one of the biggest playable showcases of the event. From August 26 to August 30, visitors in Cologne, Germany, will find Capcom in Hall 9 with a massive 950-square-meter booth packed with around 60 demo stations.
The Gamescom 2026 lineup will give fans hands-on access to several major upcoming releases, including Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, Mega Man: Dual Override, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and Street Fighter 6. The showcase is set to highlight both long-awaited franchise returns and new content for some of Capcom’s biggest modern titles.
One of the main attractions will be Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, the first major expansion for the 2024 action RPG. This expansion will be playable publicly for the first time at Gamescom 2026, giving attendees an early look before its scheduled release on October 9, 2026.
Dark Arisen is expected to expand the world of Dragon’s Dogma 2 with new story content, fresh challenges, and gameplay refinements shaped by player feedback from the original release. Capcom is also making a notable change ahead of launch by removing several paid shortcut microtransactions from digital storefronts. The move places greater focus on items that can be earned naturally through gameplay.
Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is planned for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 as a native release.
Mega Man: Dual Override will also make its playable debut at the event. As the twelfth mainline entry in the iconic action-platforming series, the game is expected to draw major attention from longtime fans eager to see where Capcom takes the Blue Bomber next.
While the full launch date has not yet been locked in, Mega Man: Dual Override is currently targeting a 2027 release window. Capcom is positioning the game as a cross-generation title, meaning it will be available across both current and older platforms. Gamescom attendees will get an early look at the game’s mechanics, visual style, and updated approach to classic Mega Man gameplay.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword is another major title in Capcom’s Gamescom 2026 lineup. The game will be playable roughly four weeks before its official release on September 25, 2026.
Set in an alternate version of early Edo-period Kyoto, Onimusha: Way of the Sword brings players into a world consumed by demonic forces. The single-player action game aims to revive the atmosphere, swordplay, and supernatural tension that helped make the Onimusha series a fan favorite. Its appearance at Gamescom should give players one of the final major previews before launch.
Street Fighter 6 will also have a major presence at the booth, though Capcom is focusing less on unreleased content and more on the competitive community. The game will serve as the center of esports tournaments, live challenges, and daily programming from the show floor.
Capcom plans to stream interactive events throughout Gamescom 2026, giving viewers at home a chance to follow the competition and community activities as they happen. For fighting game fans, Street Fighter 6 is expected to be one of the most active attractions at the booth.
Capcom’s Gamescom 2026 presence appears designed to appeal to a wide range of players. RPG fans will get their first hands-on experience with Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, platforming fans can try Mega Man: Dual Override, action fans can preview Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and fighting game fans can follow Street Fighter 6 tournaments throughout the event.
With a large booth, dozens of playable stations, and several high-profile releases on display, Capcom is shaping up to be one of the key publishers to watch at Gamescom 2026.
