Capcom Pulls Select Dragon’s Dogma 2 DLC Ahead of Dark Arisen Launch

Capcom is preparing a major shake-up for Dragon’s Dogma 2 as the game moves closer to the release of its upcoming Dark Arisen expansion. Ahead of that launch, the company has announced that several editions and downloadable content packs will be removed from sale on June 25, 2026.

One of the biggest changes is the removal of the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Deluxe Edition. Alongside it, Capcom will also stop selling a number of DLC packs that were previously offered as optional add-ons. At the same time, the standard version of Dragon’s Dogma 2 is set to receive a permanent price drop, although the company has not yet confirmed the new price.

The decision is notable because many of the affected DLC items were at the center of controversy when Dragon’s Dogma 2 launched in 2024. Players criticized Capcom for selling convenience-focused content, including Wakestones, Rift Crystals, character editing options, and items tied to fast travel. Although these items could be earned by playing the game normally, their availability as paid extras led to strong criticism from parts of the community.

The content scheduled for removal includes the New Journey Pack, multiple Rift Crystal bundles, Portcrystals, Wakestones, and other utility-based add-ons. However, the main Dragon’s Dogma 2 game will remain available for purchase. A smaller selection of DLC will also continue to be offered, including the Explorer’s Camping Kit and the Dragon’s Dogma Music & Sound Collection.

These changes appear to be part of a broader effort to refine the Dragon’s Dogma 2 experience before the next big release. Capcom has already rolled out a quality-of-life update designed to address long-running player feedback, and another update is planned for August. Together, the price adjustment, DLC removal, and gameplay improvements suggest that the publisher is working to make the game more accessible and appealing to both returning players and newcomers.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is scheduled to launch on October 9 for PC through Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. With the expansion on the horizon and the base game getting a lower price, Capcom may be setting the stage for a refreshed push that gives Dragon’s Dogma 2 a stronger second wind.
