Ayn Odin 3 Portal Charging Speed Revised Ahead of Launch
Ayn has confirmed an important specification change for its upcoming Odin 3 Portal Android gaming handheld. The device was originally listed with 60W fast charging support, but the company has now clarified that the final retail model will charge at a maximum of 45W.
The Ayn Odin 3 Portal is scheduled to begin shipping in November and is already available for pre-order. Positioned as the successor to the Odin 2 Portal and a larger alternative to the Odin 3, the new handheld is aimed at players who want a powerful Android gaming device with a bigger display, modern connectivity, and strong emulation potential.
According to Ayn, the charging speed listed at launch was incorrect due to an internal documentation issue. The Odin 3 Portal features a large 9,000mAh battery, so many buyers may have expected the previously advertised 60W charging speed to help refill the device more quickly. Instead, the handheld will ship with 45W charging support.
While this is a downgrade from the original claim, 45W charging is still reasonably fast for a handheld gaming device. It is also a notable improvement over the Odin 2 Portal, which supports 27W charging. However, since the Odin 3 Portal has a larger battery than the standard Odin 3, some users may be disappointed that it will not match the 60W charging speed listed earlier.
Ayn has already updated the Odin 3 Portal specification sheet to reflect the corrected 45W charging rate. So far, no other hardware changes have been announced.
Beyond the charging update, the Odin 3 Portal remains a feature-packed Android handheld. It includes a 7-inch Full HD OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, giving players smoother visuals and vibrant colors for gaming, streaming, and retro emulation. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Dragonwing Q8 processor and can be configured with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 3.1 storage.
The handheld runs Android 15 out of the box and includes several gaming-focused features, such as Hall Effect analog sticks, dual rear buttons, a built-in cooling fan, RGB lighting, and a microSD card slot for expandable storage. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, a USB-C port with DisplayPort output supporting up to 4K at 60fps, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Pricing for the Ayn Odin 3 Portal starts at $399 for the base model with 12GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The highest-end version, equipped with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, is priced at $669.
The corrected charging speed may be a disappointment for some early buyers, but the Odin 3 Portal still looks like one of Ayn’s most capable Android gaming handhelds yet. With its OLED display, large battery, strong performance specs, and modern wireless features, it remains a compelling option for gamers looking for a premium portable Android gaming experience.
