AYN has officially ended the run of its well-known Odin 2 handheld, confirming the device has reached end-of-life and is no longer being sold. The Odin 2 first launched in the second half of 2023 and later saw a new generation arrive with the Odin 3 in 2024, making this discontinuation a clear sign the company is moving fully to newer models.
According to a message shared through AYN’s community channels, the Odin 2 can no longer be purchased from the official AYN store. Interestingly, the listing may still appear on the site’s homepage, but clicking it leads to an error page—another strong indication that inventory has been pulled and sales have stopped.
One open question is what happens next for existing owners. AYN has not clarified whether the Odin 2’s end-of-life status will affect future software updates or ongoing support, so buyers who already own the handheld may want to keep an eye out for any official statements on firmware, bug fixes, and long-term maintenance.
For anyone who missed the Odin 2 or is still shopping for a powerful Android gaming handheld, the specs explain why it became so popular in the first place. The Odin 2 arrived with a 6-inch 1080p LCD screen, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, up to 16GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of storage with expansion support. It also featured a large 8,000mAh battery, a key selling point for extended gaming sessions and emulation on the go.
At the same time as discontinuing the Odin 2, AYN is trying to attract buyers toward a newer option by discounting the Odin 2 Portal for a limited time. The sale is already live and is scheduled to run through February 25, offering price cuts across multiple configurations.
During the promotion, the Odin 2 Portal Base model (8GB RAM and 128GB storage) drops from $329 to $249. The Odin 2 Portal Pro version (12GB RAM and 256GB storage) is discounted to $369 from $399. The top-end Portal Max (16GB RAM and 512GB storage) gets $50 off, bringing it down to $449.
This price drop makes the Odin 2 Portal much more competitive in the growing handheld gaming market, especially against similarly powered devices using the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. Where the Odin 2 Portal aims to stand out is in hardware that matters for day-to-day play: it offers a larger 7-inch 120Hz AMOLED display and an 8,000mAh battery, which should appeal to players who value a bigger screen and longer battery life for streaming, Android gaming, and demanding emulation.
For shoppers deciding between options right now, the takeaway is simple: the Odin 2 is no longer available new from AYN, but the discounted Odin 2 Portal is being positioned as the next best value—especially while the limited-time sale is active.
