ASUS Prepares to Launch Groundbreaking “Intel Lunar Lake” Laptops at IFA 2024

ASUS is gearing up for the IFA 2024 Launch Event, set to unveil next-gen laptops integrated with AI capabilities and powered by Intel Lunar Lake CPUs. Scheduled to take place in Berlin, this event is a major platform for showcasing consumer electronics and innovation.

During the event on September 4 at 17:00 (GMT+2), ASUS will reveal their latest AI PCs. The company has created a dedicated page for the event, offering a preview of what’s to come. This page shares insights into the AI PCs and includes a catalog of already launched notebooks, with new models expected to be added soon. The event page also highlights an Intel Core Ultra widget, signaling that these new PCs will feature Intel processors.

Given that the IFA event coincides with the launch of Intel’s Lunar Lake “Core Ultra 200” CPUs, ASUS is anticipated to introduce Lunar Lake-based AI PCs. Previously, ASUS has released AI PCs powered by Meteor Lake, Ryzen AI 300, and Qualcomm Snapdragon X series, leaving Lunar Lake as the next logical step.

There’s speculation that ASUS will launch a new variant of the Zenbook DUO notebook, similar to the Zenbook DUO(2024) UX8406, but enhanced with Lunar Lake CPUs designed for thin and light applications. These CPUs will offer 8 cores and 8 threads, with varying clock speeds and integrated GPUs based on the Xe2 graphics architecture.

The Core Ultra 200V chips are noted for their power efficiency, featuring a 17W/30W TDP and equipped with NPUs (Neural Processing Units) to manage intensive AI tasks while conserving energy.

As the demand for AI continues to rise, hardware manufacturers are increasingly creating AI-specialized components. Anticipations are high that AI PC shipments will see significant growth in 2025, following a notable increase in the second quarter of 2024. This growth trajectory aligns with projections that shipments of AI PCs could soar by up to 533.5% by 2025.
