AOC is expanding its budget-friendly monitor range once again, this time with two new IPS displays designed to hit a sweet spot for both gaming and everyday work. The latest additions to the B3 series are the AOC Q24B36X and AOC Q27B36X, and while they share many of the same core specs, they offer two different screen sizes so buyers can choose what best fits their desk setup and viewing preference.
The AOC Q24B36X is built around a 24-inch IPS panel with a 2560×1440 (QHD) resolution. That combination is especially appealing for people who want crisp text and sharp details without moving up to a larger screen. With its higher pixel density of 123 PPI, it should look noticeably sharper than many common 1080p options in this size range. AOC also targets smooth motion with a 144 Hz refresh rate right out of the box, paired with a 0.5 ms MPRT response time aimed at fast-paced gameplay like shooters and competitive titles. On the color side, it comes with wide gamut coverage rated at 114.7% sRGB and 88.8% DCI-P3, which can help visuals look more vibrant for games, movies, and creative tasks.
If you’d rather prioritize screen real estate, the AOC Q27B36X takes the same QHD resolution and IPS panel style and stretches it to 27 inches. It matches the 144 Hz refresh rate and 0.5 ms MPRT response time, making it similarly suited for smooth gaming and general use. Where it stands out slightly is color coverage, with AOC rating it at 118.5% sRGB and 92.1% DCI-P3—an even wider gamut than the 24-inch model, which could be a small but welcome perk for media and content work.
Both monitors keep connectivity straightforward, which makes sense for the B3 series positioning as a value-focused lineup. You get one HDMI 2.0 port and one DisplayPort 1.4 port, enough to support QHD at high refresh rates depending on your device and settings. There’s also a 3.5mm headphone jack for audio output, but no USB ports for peripherals, underscoring the budget-first approach.
Pricing is one of the biggest talking points here. The AOC Q24B36X is expected to cost £109 (around US$146), while the larger AOC Q27B36X is listed at £129 (around US$173). Both models are set to arrive for purchase later this month, giving shoppers two affordable IPS gaming monitor options with QHD resolution and a 144 Hz refresh rate at prices that undercut many competing displays.
