AMD is continuing to prepare its open-source Linux graphics driver stack for upcoming hardware, and the latest Mesa 26.3 update offers another clue about what may be coming next. The new update adds support for GFX1171, a GPU target that appears to belong to AMD’s RDNA 4m family.

While AMD has not officially announced the hardware tied to this identifier, the timing strongly suggests that it may be connected to future Zen 6-based Medusa Point APUs. These chips are expected to follow the current Strix Point lineup and could bring a new generation of integrated graphics performance to laptops, compact PCs, and handheld gaming devices.

GFX1171 is not a consumer-facing product name. Instead, it is an internal GPU architecture identifier used by AMD in driver development, Linux graphics tools, and software support before commercial products are revealed.
