AMD AM5 & AM4 Platforms Dominate Intel By A Huge Margin In Germany But Intel Motherboard Sales Refuse To Grow 1

AMD AM5 and AM4 Platforms Lead By a Wide Margin Over Intel in Germany, But Intel Motherboard Demand Remains Stagnant

In a remarkable retail surge, AMD AM5 and AM4 motherboards have seen their sales skyrocket in Germany, marking one of the largest growths AMD has experienced in the region. This unprecedented seasonal boost, although it hasn’t affected Intel’s sales figures negatively, certainly highlights AMD’s dominance in the motherboard market.

In just a week, AMD has sold approximately 5,000 motherboards through Mindfactory, a major German retailer, while Intel lagged significantly behind with just 555 units across all its platforms. It’s a striking example of AMD’s ascendancy not only due to its outstanding Zen architecture but also from Intel’s lack of competitive offerings. AMD’s continual expansion in CPU market share globally is directly influencing these impressive motherboard sales figures.

The AM4 and AM5 series motherboards are in high demand, a trend that is starkly visible in Germany where AMD outsells Intel by nearly tenfold. Recent data outlined by TechEpiphanyYT, demonstrates that AMD’s AM5 motherboards alone accounted for nearly 3,500 sales.

Sales for AM4 boards have also seen a substantial uptick, surpassing 1,500 units within the same period. Intel, on the other hand, barely reached the 500-unit mark with its LGA 1700 platform while the newer LGA 1851 only managed a meager 25 units in sales throughout the entire week.

This dominance translates to AMD capturing about 90% of the motherboard market share with revenue amounting to approximately €836,231 compared to Intel’s €93,299. Despite the similar average selling price of €168, the contrast in sales and revenue highlights Intel’s challenges in the current market.

While this is promising news for AMD and its users, it’s crucial for the overall health of the PC market to have strong competition. The industry needs Intel to bring robust new innovations and offerings to the table, ensuring competitive pricing and variety for consumers. With the upcoming generation of products, there’s hope that Intel will mount a comeback to effectively challenge both AMD’s and NVIDIA’s strong positions in the market.
