Amazfit has launched a significant software update for its smartwatches, introducing Zepp OS 3.5, with the Amazfit Balance being the first to reap the benefits of this new operating system. This advanced update enriches the user experience with the introduction of exciting new features and optimizations aimed at enhancing the functionality of the smartwatch.
The current rollout, version 3.17.6.3, is significant for Balance smartwatch users, who have access to various health and fitness tracking capabilities since the device’s release in September. The previous software update occurred in December, broadening the watch’s features to support cycling accessories and providing a Readiness score.
Embarking on the latest updates, Zepp OS 3.5 includes Zepp Flow, an AI-powered tool designed to provide voice control and informational assistance regarding weather conditions, workout metrics, and more. This feature, however, is currently exclusive to users in the United States and Canada.
A standout addition to the Balance smartwatch is the support for offline maps. Users can download maps through the Zepp app, enabling navigation without an internet connection. For skiing enthusiasts, the update introduces access to professional global ski maps which conveniently become available when the smartwatch detects that the user is in skiing mode and located near a resort.
The update also improves interaction with third-party apps like WhatsApp, allowing for image messages to sync from connected Android phones. There are notable enhancements to the breathing training results page, including new charts and support for a five-minute monitoring frequency to gauge Readiness.
Moreover, the update delivers optimized accuracy for the heart rate monitor and the body composition algorithm. It also refines the smartwatch’s schedule functionality, providing users with a more accurate and reliable experience.
The update, with a file size of 18.59MB, should be readily available for all Amazfit Balance smartwatch owners through the Zepp app. With these improvements, Amazfit continues to endorse the versatility and robustness of its products, aiming to offer an enriched user experience to all smartwatch enthusiasts.
