In a memo to Amazon employees, Andy Jassy revealed plans to reduce corporate headcount in the coming years. Since 2022, Amazon has already reduced its workforce by more than 27,000 employees, particularly in the devices, service group, and books divisions. Jassy explained that as the company expands its use of Generative AI and similar technologies, the nature of work will evolve, necessitating fewer employees for some roles and introducing new positions in AI-focused areas.
