Phison Electronics has reached a major milestone in 2026, with first-half consolidated revenue surpassing NT$100 billion, or about US$3.1 billion, for the first time in the company’s history. The strong performance highlights growing demand for NAND controller technology as artificial intelligence continues to reshape the storage and semiconductor markets.
The company, known for its NAND flash controllers and storage solutions, is benefiting from rising orders tied to AI infrastructure, data centers, mobile devices, and high-performance storage products. As AI workloads expand, demand for faster and more reliable storage has increased, giving suppliers like Phison a stronger position in the global technology supply chain.
CEO Khein-Seng Pua said that mobile controller shipments in June climbed 47% compared with the same period a year earlier. This jump is notable because it comes at a time when parts of the global electronics market remain uneven. The increase suggests that demand for mobile storage components is recovering, while AI-related opportunities continue to support broader growth.
Phison’s record first-half revenue also reflects the growing importance of NAND controllers in modern devices. These controllers play a key role in managing data inside smartphones, solid-state drives, embedded storage, and enterprise storage systems. As devices become more powerful and AI features move closer to the edge, efficient storage management is becoming increasingly critical.
The company’s momentum shows how the AI boom is spreading beyond graphics processors and servers. Storage technology is becoming a key part of the AI ecosystem, especially as businesses and consumers generate larger volumes of data. Faster data access, improved endurance, and reliable performance are now essential for AI applications, cloud services, and next-generation mobile products.
With revenue already exceeding NT$100 billion in the first half of 2026, Phison is entering the second half of the year with strong visibility and increased attention from the semiconductor industry. If AI-related orders remain steady and mobile controller demand continues to improve, the company could be positioned for one of its strongest annual performances to date.
Phison’s latest results underline a broader trend in the tech sector: the AI revolution is not only driving demand for advanced computing chips, but also for the storage technologies that support them. As AI adoption accelerates, NAND controller makers are likely to remain an important part of the global semiconductor growth story.
