A Fresh Amazfit Smartwatch Emerges as T-Rex Ultra 2 Buzz Builds

A new, unreleased Amazfit smartwatch may be getting ready to launch after appearing in a Malaysian certification database. Amazfit’s most recent wearable release was the Active Max smartwatch, which arrived in late December 2025. Now, a fresh listing hints that another model could be right around the corner.

The device shows up in the database of the Standard and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM) under the name “Smart Watch” with the model number A2550. The registration was filed by Comsat Mobile Communications Sdn Bhd, the company behind the Amazfit brand. While the listing confirms the certification was granted on January 26, it doesn’t reveal key specs, features, or an official product name.

Even without those details, the appearance of model A2550 is fueling speculation that it could be the rumored Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2, expected to be a successor to the original T-Rex Ultra. Recent chatter suggests this next-generation rugged smartwatch may upgrade to a MicroLED display, potentially delivering higher brightness than the AMOLED screens used in current Amazfit wearables. Rumors also point to diving-friendly capabilities and the brand’s newest health tracking technology, which would fit the T-Rex line’s outdoors-focused reputation.

Timing is another reason this certification is drawing attention. Some reports claim the Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2 could debut at MWC 2025 in Barcelona, scheduled for early March. A certification dated late January would align well with a launch window in the weeks leading up to a major industry event.

That said, there’s still a chance model A2550 isn’t the T-Rex Ultra 2 at all. Amazfit could be preparing another addition to its smartwatch lineup, possibly expanding on the T-Rex 3 or Active series instead. Until more filings, leaks, or an official announcement appear, the SIRIM listing is the strongest clue yet that a new Amazfit smartwatch release is approaching.
