8BitDo Unveils New Pro Wireless Controller for Xbox and PC, Launch Schedule Announced

8BitDo is getting ready to expand its lineup with a new Pro-style wireless controller designed for Xbox and PC, and it looks like a meaningful upgrade for players who care about comfort, customization, and fast input response.

The upcoming controller adds several modern extras right out of the gate, including RGB lighting, trigger switches, and 6-axis motion controls. There are a couple of important platform notes, though. Motion controls will only work on PC, so Xbox players won’t be able to use that feature on console. The same goes for the advertised 1,000 Hz polling rate, which is not supported on Xbox consoles—meaning PC users are the ones who’ll benefit most from the ultra-fast polling.

Where this controller could really stand out is ergonomics. 8BitDo’s new Ultimate 3E reportedly pushes comfort further with a wider grip angle intended to feel better in the hand over long sessions. It also introduces new silicone grips that should reduce fatigue and improve control during extended gameplay.

Customization is another big focus. Compared to the Ultimate 2 Wireless, the Ultimate 3E is positioned as a deeper, more modular option. Players can swap out joysticks, d-pads, and ABXY button modules, and it even supports a removable front plate. That kind of hardware-level customization is ideal for gamers who want a specific feel for different genres—whether it’s tighter precision for shooters, a preferred d-pad for fighting games, or simply a personalized look.

Pricing hasn’t been confirmed yet, but 8BitDo has suggested a launch window sometime between April and the end of June 2026. If you play on both Xbox and PC—or you mainly game on PC and want motion controls plus high polling—this is shaping up to be a controller worth watching as more details arrive.
