8BitDo Reveals Gears of War: E-Day Keyboard and Mouse With Crimson Gaming Style
8BitDo is expanding its Gears of War: E-Day accessory lineup with two new gaming peripherals designed for fans who want their desk setup to match the brutal, war-torn style of the franchise. After introducing a themed charging dock for Xbox wireless controllers, the company has now unveiled the Gears of War: E-Day versions of its Retro 87 Mechanical Keyboard and Retro R8 Mouse.
The new 8BitDo Retro 87 Mechanical Keyboard: Gears of War: E-Day Edition takes the familiar design of the Retro 87 Xbox Edition and gives it a much darker makeover. Instead of the classic Xbox green finish, this special edition uses a black and crimson color scheme with a fractured earth-inspired design that fits the atmosphere of Gears of War.
The game’s title appears above the function key row, while the usual Xbox-style Game Bar button has been replaced with the Gears of War logo. The keyboard also includes a striking mix of translucent red, solid red, and black keycaps. To make the design feel even more connected to the series, 8BitDo has swapped the first four keys in the number row with icons inspired by iconic weapons from the game.
The package also includes a translucent red 2.4GHz adapter and dual wired Super Buttons decorated with Gears of War insignias. These extras add more personality to the setup and make the keyboard feel like a true collector’s item rather than a simple color refresh.
In terms of performance, the Retro 87 Mechanical Keyboard: Gears of War: E-Day Edition features 8BitDo Cloud Gray linear mechanical switches, co-developed with Huano. It also includes RGB backlighting with eight lighting modes, a hot-swappable PCB, and N-key rollover support, making it suitable for both gaming and everyday typing.
Connectivity options include Bluetooth, 2.4GHz wireless, and USB-C wired mode. The keyboard supports Windows and Android devices, giving users flexibility across different setups.
Alongside the keyboard, 8BitDo is also launching the Retro R8 Mouse: Gears of War: E-Day Edition. This gaming mouse follows the same crimson and black theme, with translucent red sections paired with black buttons, a black palm rest, and a black scroll wheel. The included charging dock features Gears of War: E-Day branding, while the 2.4GHz receiver also comes in translucent red to match the keyboard.
The Retro R8 Mouse: Gears of War: E-Day Edition is equipped with a PAW 3395 sensor and Huano micro switches. It supports tri-mode connectivity, allowing users to connect through Bluetooth, 2.4GHz wireless, or a wired connection. The built-in 450mAh battery is rated for up to 100 hours of use, making it a strong option for long gaming sessions and daily productivity.
The 8BitDo Retro 87 Mechanical Keyboard: Gears of War: E-Day Edition is priced at $119.99, while the Retro R8 Mouse: Gears of War: E-Day Edition costs $59.99. Both accessories are available for pre-order now through 8BitDo’s official store, with the keyboard also listed on Amazon.
The Gears of War: E-Day keyboard and mouse are scheduled to launch on October 30. For fans of the franchise, this collection offers a stylish way to bring the look and feel of Gears of War to a gaming desk while still delivering the practical features expected from modern wireless gaming accessories.
