27-inch PlayStation Gaming Monitor Unveiled, Arriving in the US and Japan Next Year

Sony is bringing a new PlayStation Gaming Monitor to desks next year, debuting first in the United States and Japan. Designed as an easy match for PS5 and PS5 Pro while also doubling as a high-refresh display for PC and Mac, this 27-inch screen targets players who want smooth performance, plug-and-play convenience, and a clean setup without spending flagship money. Pricing hasn’t been announced yet, but the feature set points to a more budget-friendly option than Sony’s recent premium monitors.

Here’s what stands out:
– 27-inch QHD IPS panel (2560 x 1440) for sharp, desk-friendly gaming
– HDR support with Auto HDR Tone Mapping on PS5 and PS5 Pro to optimize settings automatically during setup
– Variable Refresh Rate and up to 120 Hz on PS5 and PS5 Pro for fluid console gameplay
– Up to 240 Hz on compatible PC and Mac devices for competitive-level motion clarity
– Built-in Charging Hook to keep a DualSense or DualSense Edge controller charged and ready
– Two HDMI 2.1 inputs with support for 1440p at up to 240 Hz, FRL, and VRR
– One DisplayPort 1.4 input with 1440p up to 240 Hz and DSC for high-bandwidth PC use
– Two USB-A ports and one USB-C port, compatible with PlayStation Link Adapters and other peripherals
– VESA mounting compatibility for flexible desk or wall setups
– Built-in stereo speakers plus a 3.5mm headphone jack

Sony also teased an ideal audio pairing: the upcoming Pulse Elevate Wireless Speakers, featuring planar magnetic drivers and a built-in microphone. Those speakers are planned for a 2026 launch, giving players a future-ready upgrade path if they want an all-Sony desktop ecosystem.

While this PlayStation Gaming Monitor sits below the Inzone M10S OLED and M9 II in pure specs, it’s positioned to deliver the essentials that matter most to console and PC gamers: 1440p resolution, high refresh rates, VRR, and HDR that plays nicely with PS5 setup. That balance, plus the promise of a likely lower price point, should make it an attractive option for anyone building a streamlined PS5 or dual-purpose PC setup.

Availability is slated for next year, with US and Japan confirmed at launch. Official pricing and an exact release date are still to come.
