ZOTAC Lists GeForce RTX 5090 SOLID OC in Japan for Around $7,500 Despite Discontinuation Reports
The GeForce RTX 5090 continues to create confusion in the graphics card market. While multiple reports have suggested that NVIDIA’s flagship Blackwell GPU may have reached end-of-life status, a new retail listing shows that at least some inventory is still appearing through board partners.
ZOTAC has listed the GeForce RTX 5090 SOLID OC on its Japanese online store, and the card appeared to be available for purchase at the time it was spotted. The listing shows a price of 1,190,000 yen including tax, which converts to roughly $7,535. Buyers were reportedly able to add the GPU to their cart and proceed with payment through the store or Amazon Pay.
Only one unit could be added per order, which strongly suggests limited stock. That is not surprising, considering how scarce the RTX 5090 has become across many regions.
The situation around the GeForce RTX 5090 is unusual. On one side, vendors and industry reports indicate that NVIDIA has stopped supplying the GB202 GPU package paired with 32 GB of GDDR7 memory. On the other side, NVIDIA has claimed that shipments are still ongoing. ZOTAC’s new listing adds another layer to the debate, suggesting that at least some units are still making their way to market.
There are a few possible explanations. NVIDIA may still be sending limited RTX 5090 inventory to select board partners. Another possibility is that ZOTAC had already secured a batch of GPU and memory bundles earlier and is now releasing finished cards through its own retail channel. Either way, the appearance of fresh listings shows that the RTX 5090 has not completely disappeared from shelves.
Availability, however, remains extremely limited. A check of major U.S. retailers shows that the ZOTAC RTX 5090 SOLID OC is not currently in stock, and most GeForce RTX 5090 models from other manufacturers are also unavailable. This shortage has helped push pricing far beyond what buyers would typically expect for a flagship gaming GPU.
The same ZOTAC RTX 5090 SOLID OC has also appeared through some Indian retailers at prices above INR 900,000, which is more than $9,400. That indicates some third-party sellers in certain regions may still have remaining stock, though often at extremely inflated prices.
For PC enthusiasts, creators, and high-end gaming system builders, the RTX 5090 remains one of the most powerful graphics cards on the market. With 32 GB of GDDR7 memory and NVIDIA’s Blackwell architecture, it is aimed at users who want top-tier 4K gaming, AI workloads, rendering, and demanding creative applications.
The problem is availability. Even if the card is technically still being sold in certain regions, the limited supply and extreme pricing make it difficult for most buyers to justify. The Japanese ZOTAC listing proves that the GeForce RTX 5090 is not entirely gone, but it also highlights how rare and expensive the GPU has become.
For now, anyone hoping to buy an RTX 5090 may need to watch regional retailers closely and be prepared for very high pricing. Until NVIDIA and its partners clarify the long-term status of the card, the RTX 5090 will likely remain one of the most talked-about and hardest-to-find GPUs in the premium graphics card market.
