Xiaomi is gearing up for a major smartphone reveal, and a newly released teaser has now made one key detail official: a new Leica Edition flagship is on the way, and it’s not staying limited to one market.
According to Xiaomi’s latest confirmation, the Leica Edition will be unveiled at the same February 28 launch event as the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra. Even more notably for fans outside Xiaomi’s usual early-release regions, the company says this model is launching globally under the name “Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi.”
The teaser also strongly suggests that previous leaked photos of the device were accurate. That means the design seen in those images is likely a reliable preview of what buyers can expect when the Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi makes its official debut. While Xiaomi hasn’t shared full specifications yet, the branding and timing point to a premium flagship positioned around Leica-focused imaging and a standout, camera-forward design.
For now, the biggest unanswered question is price. Xiaomi hasn’t disclosed how the Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi will be priced internationally, but with a global release confirmed and a flagship-stage introduction alongside the Xiaomi 17 series, it’s clearly being treated as a top-tier device.
All eyes now turn to February 28, when Xiaomi is expected to reveal the full specs, features, regional availability, and final pricing for its new Leica Edition smartphone.
