Xiaomi Poco C81 Pro expands to more markets as a low-cost big-screen smartphone
Xiaomi has started offering the Poco C81 Pro in more regions, giving budget-conscious buyers another affordable smartphone option with a large display, long battery life, and dual-SIM support. The handset is now available in markets including Germany and Spain, where it targets users who want the basics at a low price rather than premium performance.
In Germany, the Poco C81 Pro is listed through Xiaomi at €146.90, which is around $160. That price applies to the version with 256 GB of internal storage and 4 GB of RAM. A more affordable 128 GB model is also listed for just under €126, though it is not currently available. Buyers can choose from three color options: Black, Green, and Gold. For now, the Poco C81 Pro has not been officially launched in the United States.
The phone is clearly positioned as an entry-level device, but it still offers a few features that could make it appealing for everyday use. One of its main highlights is the large 6.9-inch LCD screen, which provides plenty of space for browsing, watching videos, messaging, and social media. The display has a resolution of 1,600 x 720 pixels, supports a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, and can reach up to 800 cd/m² brightness in high brightness mode.
Performance comes from the Unisoc T7250 chipset. This processor includes two Cortex-A75 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores, making it suitable for basic smartphone tasks such as web browsing, streaming, messaging, and light app usage. However, users looking for strong gaming performance or heavy multitasking should keep in mind that this is a budget-focused device.
One limitation is the lack of 5G support. The Poco C81 Pro is limited to 4G mobile connectivity, which may not be ideal for users who want the fastest mobile data speeds. On the other hand, the phone does support dual-SIM use, making it useful for people who travel frequently or want to keep personal and work numbers on the same device.
The camera system is simple. On the back, the Poco C81 Pro features a 13 MP main camera, while the front has an 8 MP selfie camera. This setup should be enough for casual photos, video calls, and social media snapshots, though it is not designed to compete with higher-end camera phones.
Battery life may be one of the strongest selling points of the device. Xiaomi has equipped the Poco C81 Pro with a large 6,000 mAh battery, which should help it last through a full day of typical use and potentially longer depending on usage habits. The phone weighs 208 grams, which is expected given the large display and battery.
The Poco C81 Pro also includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for quick unlocking. Another welcome feature is the 3.5 mm headphone jack, which has become less common on modern smartphones. This makes the device more convenient for users who still prefer wired headphones or want a simple way to connect external audio devices.
Overall, the Xiaomi Poco C81 Pro is aimed at buyers who want an affordable smartphone with a huge screen, strong battery capacity, dual-SIM functionality, and plenty of storage for the price. It is not built for power users, 5G fans, or mobile photography enthusiasts, but for everyday tasks and basic entertainment, it could be a practical budget Android phone in the markets where it is now available.
