Xiaomi Unveils Snapdragon 8 Elite Powerhouse With 165Hz Screen and Bose-Tuned Sound

Redmi K100 confirmed for October 27 launch with Snapdragon 8 Elite and 165Hz display

Xiaomi is getting ready to expand its Redmi K series with the standard Redmi K100, and the brand has now confirmed that the phone will debut in China on October 27, 2026. Ahead of the official event, Xiaomi has revealed the handset’s design, color option, and several important specifications, giving fans a clear idea of what to expect.

The Redmi K100 will arrive after the Redmi K100 Pro and Redmi K100 Pro Max, which launched in China earlier in August. While the Pro models target users looking for the highest-end Redmi experience, the standard Redmi K100 still appears to be a powerful performance-focused smartphone with gaming-friendly hardware and a premium display.

Promotional images show the Redmi K100 in a striking “Firefly Green” finish. The rear design features a large rectangular camera island that appears to house two camera sensors. The module also includes “Sound by Bose” branding, suggesting Xiaomi is putting extra focus on audio quality for this model.

One of the biggest highlights of the Redmi K100 is its display. Xiaomi has confirmed that the phone will feature a large 6.83-inch screen with a super-smooth 165Hz refresh rate. This should make scrolling, gaming, and animations feel extremely fluid. The display will also offer a peak brightness of 3,500 nits, which should help with outdoor visibility and HDR content.

For gamers, the touch response numbers are equally impressive. The Redmi K100 is confirmed to support a 480Hz multi-finger touch reporting rate and a 3,500Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate. These features are designed to reduce input delay and improve responsiveness during fast-paced mobile games.

Powering the Redmi K100 is the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. This flagship 3nm processor was introduced in 2024 and has already been used in previous high-performance smartphones, including the earlier Redmi K90 series. To further improve gaming performance, Xiaomi is also adding a dedicated D2 gaming chip, which may help with frame stability, graphics optimization, and overall gaming efficiency.

On the software side, the Redmi K100 will ship with HyperOS 4. Xiaomi’s latest software experience is expected to bring smoother animations, system-level optimizations, and better integration across the company’s ecosystem of devices.

For now, Xiaomi has only confirmed the Redmi K100 for the Chinese market. There is no official word yet on a global launch. However, based on the company’s previous strategy, the phone could eventually arrive in international markets under the Poco brand. The Redmi K100 Pro and Redmi K100 Pro Max were released globally as the Poco F9 Pro and Poco F9 Ultra, so a similar rebranding approach is possible for the standard Redmi K100.

With a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, 165Hz display, ultra-high touch sampling rate, dedicated gaming chip, and Bose-tuned audio, the Redmi K100 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting performance smartphones in its category. More details, including pricing, camera specifications, battery capacity, and charging speed, are expected to be announced during the official launch on October 27.
