Redmi K100 Pro Max Takes Off With Record-Breaking First-Day Sales

Redmi K100 Pro Max launches with strong first-day sales in China

Redmi’s latest flagship, the Redmi K100 Pro Max, is already making waves in China. Xiaomi president Lu Weibing revealed on Weibo that the new smartphone delivered an impressive first-day performance, reaching 150% of the sales recorded by the previous Redmi K90 Pro Max during its pre-order period.

While Xiaomi has not shared exact sales numbers for the K100 Pro Max, the comparison suggests that the new model has started with strong consumer demand. That is especially notable because the smartphone market is currently facing rising component and memory costs, which have put extra pressure on brands to adjust pricing or reduce margins.

The Redmi K90 Pro Max was already a successful device for the company. Market-tracking data from China indicated that the model reached around 724,800 units sold by the end of June 2026. Earlier figures showed about 275,800 units sold by the end of 2025, suggesting that the phone continued to perform well long after its launch window.

Because Redmi has not revealed the K90 Pro Max’s exact first-day sales, it is not possible to calculate the K100 Pro Max’s actual launch-day volume. Even so, the 150% comparison points to a confident start for Redmi’s newest high-end smartphone.

One of the biggest talking points around the Redmi K100 Pro Max is its hardware. The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, positioning it as a serious flagship contender for users who want top-tier performance for gaming, multitasking, and demanding apps.

The device also features a 185 Hz display, a refresh rate that stands out even among premium smartphones. This should make the K100 Pro Max especially appealing to mobile gamers and users who value ultra-smooth scrolling, fast touch response, and fluid visuals.

Battery life is another major highlight. Redmi has equipped the K100 Pro Max with a huge 9,070 mAh battery, which the company says is the largest battery it has ever placed in one of its smartphones. For buyers who prioritize long screen time, gaming endurance, and fewer daily charging sessions, this could be one of the phone’s strongest selling points.

Redmi has also added a 2.1-channel speaker system tuned by Bose. That is an unusual feature in the smartphone market, even among expensive flagship devices. The enhanced audio setup helps separate the K100 Pro Max from the regular Redmi K100 Pro and gives it an extra entertainment-focused advantage for gaming, movies, and music.

Pricing is also an important part of the story. The Redmi K100 Pro Max normally starts at CNY 4,499, but a launch promotion currently lowers the starting price to CNY 4,199. Given the rising cost of smartphone components, Redmi appears to have chosen a more premium pricing strategy for this generation while still offering an early discount to attract first buyers.

For now, the Redmi K100 Pro Max is officially available only in China. However, international buyers may still get access to the device through import sellers, as happened quickly with the Redmi K90 Pro Max after its launch.

There is also a possibility that the K100 Pro Max could eventually reach global markets under Poco branding. Redmi’s previous Pro Max model served as the foundation for a Poco flagship, and the new version may follow a similar path. If that happens, global users could get a rebadged version of the K100 Pro Max with many of the same headline features.

With a powerful Snapdragon chipset, a massive battery, a high-refresh-rate display, and a premium speaker system, the Redmi K100 Pro Max is shaping up to be one of Redmi’s most ambitious flagship phones yet. Its strong first-day sales suggest that Chinese buyers are responding well, even in a market where higher prices and rising component costs have made competition more challenging.
