Timex’s Magical New Pocket Watch Nods to a Hogwarts Icon Beyond the Time-Turner

Timex has expanded its Harry Potter watch collection with a new Time Turner pocket watch, a gold-tone collectible aimed squarely at fans of the Wizarding World. The latest model, reference TW2Y99600, is priced at $349 in the United States and £290 in the United Kingdom, placing it among the more premium pieces in Timex’s themed lineup.

The watch is clearly designed to appeal to collectors rather than buyers searching for a high-end mechanical pocket watch. Its biggest selling point is the design. The 48.5 mm case is made from polished stainless steel with a gold-tone finish, giving it a bright, display-worthy look. At 12 mm thick, it has a noticeable presence without being overly bulky.

The hinged front cover is the main attraction. It is sculpted to resemble the rotating rings of the Time Turner, one of the most recognizable magical objects from the Harry Potter universe. Open the cover, and the watch reveals a white dial inspired by the Hogwarts Clock Tower. Timex has used full Roman numerals around the dial, while a spiral pattern in the center adds to the fantasy-themed presentation.

There are more collector-focused details as well. The caseback is engraved with the Harry Potter logo, while the inside of the cover features a perlage-style finish. Timex also includes a single Albert chain, completing the classic pocket watch look and making the piece easier to display or carry.

From a technical standpoint, however, the Time Turner pocket watch is fairly simple. It runs on a quartz movement powered by an SR626SW battery, with the movement listed in some references as a Japanese-made caliber 221. The crystal is acrylic, which can provide a warm, polished vintage-style appearance, but it is not as scratch-resistant as mineral glass or sapphire.

Water resistance is rated at 30 meters, which is best understood as basic splash protection. Timex describes it as suitable for hand washing and similar light exposure, not swimming or heavy water contact.

That makes the $349 price tag a little difficult to judge if viewed purely as a watch purchase. The Time Turner pocket watch costs the same as Timex’s 40 mm Time Turner chronograph and sits $70 above the Sorcerer’s Stone model in the same collection. Buyers are paying primarily for the Harry Potter theme, the pocket watch format, and the collectible design rather than advanced watchmaking specifications.

The UK pricing may be slightly more favorable. The £290 retail price includes 20 percent VAT, which works out to around £242 before tax, or roughly $322. That puts it below the US price before local sales tax is added.

Timex’s US store has also been running a 30 percent promotional discount across the site, which could bring the Time Turner pocket watch down to about $244 if the model qualifies. As always, buyers should check current availability, exclusions, and the remaining duration of any promotion before making a purchase decision.

For Harry Potter fans, this new Timex Time Turner pocket watch is likely to be most appealing as a display piece, gift, or wearable collectible. It is not a specialist horology purchase, but it does deliver a distinctive design tied closely to one of the franchise’s most memorable magical artifacts.
