Xiaomi has recently introduced the highly anticipated Mijia M30 S robot vacuum and mop, now accepting pre-orders in China. This advanced robotic cleaner draws similarities with the M30 Pro version unveiled earlier in January, maintaining forward-thinking features such as LDS navigation paired with a 110-degree wide-angle camera and innovative S-Cross AI for enhanced obstacle detection and navigation.
One of the standout characteristics of the M30 S is its powerful suction capability, reaching up to a formidable 7,300 Pa. As a hybrid unit, it not only vacuums but also mops efficiently at a brisk pace of up to 180 rotations per minute. Xiaomi emphasizes the robot’s proficiency in edge cleaning, boasting an impressive 99% coverage rate, making it incredibly thorough. This model is ideally suited for large spaces, effectively serving areas as vast as 700 square meters or roughly 7,500 square feet.
The M30 S includes a state-of-the-art self-cleaning docking station that enables up to 75 days of low-maintenance, hands-free cleaning. This involves auto-emptying of both dust and dirty water containers, coupled with intense washing of the mop using 60°C water, followed by a warm air drying process.
Control of the robot vacuum is streamlined and versatile; you can operate it through the Xiaomi application or employ Xiao AI voice commands for convenient, on-the-go adjustments, keeping it in line with the ease of use expected from Xiaomi’s smart device ecosystem.
A notable feature of the Mijia M30 S is its hair-cutting tool designed to prevent tangling. While this tool is comparatively less complex than the one found in the M30 Pro model, it is nevertheless a valuable addition for households with pets or individuals with long hair. Despite these high-end features, the M30 S has simplified certain aspects, like omitting the AI dirt detection and night vision capabilities seen in the Pro model.
Interested customers can secure the Mijia M30 S robot vacuum and mop for a retail price of 3,699 yuan, equivalent to around $500. Although it is currently available for pre-order in the Chinese market, its release in other territories such as North America or Europe is yet to be announced. The availability in these regions is eagerly anticipated by global consumers keen on integrating Xiaomi’s latest cleaning technology into their homes.
