Xiaomi Redmi K100 Pro Debuts With Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V Series, 185Hz AMOLED Display, and Huge 8,580mAh Battery
Xiaomi has expanded its flagship Redmi lineup with the launch of the Redmi K100 Pro, arriving alongside the higher-end Redmi K100 Pro Max. While the non-Max model shares several premium features with its sibling, it comes with a slightly different processor under the hood.
The Redmi K100 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V Series chipset. This appears to be a tuned-down version of the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, featuring a reduced Adreno GPU configuration. Xiaomi has not revealed official benchmark results for this chip, but real-world performance is expected to remain close to the regular flagship variant, especially for demanding apps and mobile games.
To support the processor, Xiaomi has paired the device with LPDDR5X “Ultra” RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. This combination should help deliver faster app loading, smoother multitasking, and quicker file transfers, making the Redmi K100 Pro a strong option for users who want flagship-level speed without stepping up to the Max model.
Gaming is one of the major selling points of the Redmi K100 Pro. Like the Pro Max, it includes Xiaomi’s D2 chipset, which is designed to improve gaming performance and efficiency. According to Xiaomi, the phone can run competitive shooter titles at more than 144 frames per second, while open-world games are claimed to stay around 60 frames per second. That makes the device especially appealing to mobile gamers who prioritize high frame rates and stable performance.
The display is another standout feature. The Redmi K100 Pro sports a 6.59-inch AMOLED screen with a sharp 2510 x 1156 resolution and an extremely fast 185Hz refresh rate. This should make scrolling, animations, and supported games feel exceptionally fluid. The panel also reaches a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, which should help with outdoor visibility. Full DC dimming is included as well, offering a more comfortable viewing experience for users sensitive to screen flicker.
Battery life should be one of the phone’s biggest strengths. Xiaomi has equipped the Redmi K100 Pro with a large 8,580mAh battery, giving it far more capacity than many other flagship smartphones. Charging speeds are also impressive, with 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging support. The phone can even work as a power source for other devices, offering 27W wired reverse charging and 22.5W wireless reverse charging.
For photography, the Redmi K100 Pro includes a triple rear camera setup. The main camera uses a 200MP sensor, which should offer high-resolution shots and strong detail capture. It is joined by a 50MP telephoto camera with 2.5x optical zoom, giving users more flexibility for portraits and distant subjects. An 8MP ultrawide camera completes the setup for landscapes, architecture, and group photos.
Xiaomi has also added several premium extras to round out the package. The Redmi K100 Pro features stereo speakers with Sound by Bose tuning, WiFi 7 support, and Dolby Vision compatibility. These additions make the phone better suited for gaming, streaming, and general entertainment.
The device is available in four color options in China. One version includes fluorescent material on the back, giving it a more distinctive look compared to standard smartphone finishes.
As for pricing, the Redmi K100 Pro starts at CNY 3,699, which is approximately $548. That base model includes 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The higher-end version comes with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, priced at CNY 4,699, or around $696.
For now, Xiaomi has not confirmed whether the Redmi K100 Pro will launch globally. If it does reach more markets, its combination of a flagship Snapdragon chip, ultra-fast AMOLED display, massive battery, fast charging, and high-resolution camera system could make it one of the more competitive performance phones in its price range.
