Xiaomi Redmi K100 Pro Max teased with 185Hz display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and gaming-focused upgrades
Xiaomi is preparing to introduce its next high-end Redmi smartphones in China, with the Redmi K100 Pro and Redmi K100 Pro Max scheduled to launch on August 11. Ahead of the official debut, the company has shared fresh details about the Redmi K100 Pro Max, making it clear that this model is being built with mobile gamers in mind.
The biggest highlight is its display. The Redmi K100 Pro Max will feature a large 6.9-inch screen with an ultra-fast 185Hz refresh rate, putting it ahead of many current flagship and gaming phones. For comparison, the Redmi K90 Pro Max offered a 120Hz panel, while the newer Redmi K90 Ultra stepped up to 165Hz. With 185Hz support, the K100 Pro Max is aiming for smoother animations, faster touch response, and a more fluid gaming experience.
Xiaomi says more than 30 mobile games will support 185 fps natively on the Redmi K100 Pro Max. The full list of supported games has not been revealed yet, but this could be a major selling point for players who want higher frame rates in competitive titles.
Performance will be another key focus. The Redmi K100 Pro Max will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a flagship-grade chipset built on a 3nm process. It includes the Adreno 840 GPU and is designed to deliver top-tier performance for gaming, multitasking, and heavy workloads. Xiaomi will also pair the processor with its D2 discrete graphics chip, which should help improve visual performance and efficiency during gameplay.
According to Xiaomi, the Redmi K100 Pro Max reached an impressive 4.55 million points in the AnTuTu V11 benchmark. While real-world performance can vary, that score suggests the phone will compete strongly in the premium gaming smartphone category.
The company is also focusing on connectivity. The Redmi K100 Pro Max includes seven antennas arranged to reduce signal blockage when the phone is held horizontally, a common grip position during gaming. It will also feature two Xiaomi Surge T1+ signal-enhancement chips, which are intended to improve network stability and reception.
Other confirmed features include Bose-tuned audio, a metal frame, and a new Cabernet Red color option. These details suggest Xiaomi wants the Redmi K100 Pro Max to feel like more than just a performance device, combining gaming power with a more premium design and sound experience.
