Xiaomi has officially revealed the Redmi Buds 8, a new pair of affordable true wireless earbuds designed to bring premium-style features to a lower price range. The Redmi Buds 8 are set to launch in China on April 21, 2026, arriving alongside the K90 Max smartphone and a Redmi-branded Panther Lake laptop lineup.
The biggest highlight is active noise cancellation rated at up to 50dB. Xiaomi says the earbuds support 4kHz wideband ANC, aiming to reduce a wider range of everyday noise so your music, podcasts, and calls feel more immersive even in busy places like public transport, cafés, or city streets.
For audio performance, Xiaomi confirms the Redmi Buds 8 use an 11mm high-performance dynamic driver setup. The company is positioning this as a key part of the “superior” sound promise, catering to listeners who want strong all-around tuning for vocals, bass, and general clarity in an affordable wireless earbud.
Comfort is also a major part of the pitch. Xiaomi is emphasizing a comfort-forward design intended for long listening sessions, whether you’re commuting, working, or wearing them for extended calls throughout the day.
A particularly useful feature teased ahead of launch is an anti-loss and find function. In practical terms, this suggests a built-in way to help locate misplaced earbuds, similar in spirit to the tracking and “find” tools available on some competing premium earbuds. If Xiaomi brings this feature to an entry-friendly price point, it could be a standout value add for anyone who frequently misplaces small accessories.
Connectivity should be up to date as well, with Bluetooth 5.4 confirmed. Xiaomi has also shown that the Redmi Buds 8 will be available in three color options, giving buyers a bit more choice beyond the usual single-color release.
Xiaomi hasn’t announced pricing yet, nor has it published the full spec sheet. More details, including cost and possibly battery life and mic performance, are expected closer to the April 21 launch.
