Xiaomi has introduced a new budget-friendly smart washer in China: the Mijia Washing Machine Top-Loading 10kg. Designed for homes where space matters, this freestanding top-load washer features a rounded, minimalist look and a notably compact footprint of about 0.3 m² (around 3.2 ft²), making it easier to fit into smaller laundry areas without sacrificing capacity.
One of the biggest highlights is smart home integration. With HyperOS Connect, the washer can work alongside other Xiaomi smart devices. For example, the Xiao AI voice assistant can alert you when a cycle is finished, and compatible smart lights in your laundry room can automatically switch on. You can also monitor progress, start or stop cycles, and manage key settings remotely through Xiaomi’s app. Prefer manual control? Despite its compact design, this 10kg top-loading washing machine comes with 10 washing modes, including a dedicated wool cycle for more delicate garments. Xiaomi also says the washer intelligently adjusts water volume based on the load weight, aiming to improve efficiency while still delivering a thorough clean. The company additionally claims 100% mite removal and notes that the model carries a Level 1 energy efficiency rating under China’s standards.
In terms of real-world capacity, Xiaomi suggests the drum size can handle up to 45 T-shirts, 12 pairs of jeans, or 4 sets of bedding in a single wash—useful for families or anyone trying to reduce the number of weekly loads.
Pricing is another reason this washer is drawing attention. The Xiaomi Mijia Washing Machine Top-Loading 10kg is listed in China for CNY 799 (about $115). Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed whether the model will launch in Europe, though the brand has expanded similar laundry appliances outside China before, so an international release may still be possible.
