Xiaomi Unveils Mijia Shoe Washer With 360° Triple-Brush Deep Cleaning

Xiaomi Mijia Shoe Washer 3kg Debuts as a Compact Cleaner for Sneakers and Everyday Footwear

Xiaomi has introduced the Mijia Shoe Washer 3kg in China, a compact appliance designed specifically for cleaning shoes. Unlike a regular washing machine, this model is built to handle footwear with dedicated brushes, targeted water flow, and multiple wash modes for different levels of dirt.

The new Xiaomi shoe washer is launching through crowdfunding on the company’s Youpin platform from November 2 at 10:00 local time. The early crowdfunding price is CNY 799, which is roughly $120, while the suggested retail price is CNY 1,299, or about $195.

Designed like a small top-loading washing machine, the Mijia Shoe Washer 3kg takes up just 0.18 square meters of floor space. That makes it suitable for small laundry rooms, balconies, utility areas, or apartment spaces where a full-size extra washer would be impractical.

The washer can clean two to four pairs of shoes in a single load, depending on shoe size and type. Xiaomi says it is suitable for running shoes, casual sneakers, canvas shoes, skate shoes, children’s shoes, sports slippers, and similar footwear.

Cleaning is handled by a high-speed pulsator that moves water through the drum and across key areas of the shoes, including the uppers, soles, tread grooves, and inner lining. To improve scrubbing performance, the machine uses three brushes: one positioned at the bottom and two placed along the sides. This setup is designed to remove mud, sweat, grass stains, and everyday grime more effectively than soaking or hand washing.

The Mijia Shoe Washer 3kg includes eight washing programs: standard, heavy-duty, quick wash, sterilization, multi-purpose, rinse and spin, spin only, and drum cleaning. The quick wash cycle takes 20 minutes and does not require users to remove the laces, making it useful for busy households or anyone who wants fresh shoes without a long cleaning routine.

There is also a 24-hour delay start function, allowing users to schedule a wash cycle in advance. The drum-cleaning mode helps prevent sand, dirt, and residue from building up inside the machine after repeated use.

One of the major selling points is the sterilization function. Xiaomi claims the sterilization cycle can remove up to 99.8% of E. coli, 99.6% of Staphylococcus aureus, and 99% of Trichophyton rubrum, a fungus commonly associated with athlete’s foot. These figures are described as lab-tested, although the company has not publicly identified the testing facility.

The washer is not intended for every type of shoe. Xiaomi advises against using it for leather shoes, expensive or delicate footwear, shoes that may fade in water, pairs with aging or peeling glue, and shoes with decorative parts that could come loose during washing.

In addition to footwear, Xiaomi says the machine can also be used for certain household cleaning items and pet accessories. The package includes a pulsator disc and a filter screen.

For people who frequently clean sneakers, children’s shoes, gym footwear, or muddy outdoor shoes, the Mijia Shoe Washer 3kg could be a practical alternative to hand scrubbing or using a standard washing machine. Its small footprint, dedicated brush system, quick wash option, and sterilization claims make it a convenient appliance for households that want cleaner shoes with less effort.

For now, Xiaomi has only announced the Mijia Shoe Washer 3kg for the Chinese market, and there is no confirmed information about a global release.
