Xiaomi 18 Pro Max Rumored to Pack Leica LOFIC 3.0 Camera as Xiaomi 18 Ultra Lives On

Xiaomi 18 Series Price Hike Rumored as New Camera Tech Pushes Costs Higher

The Xiaomi 18 series could arrive with a noticeable price increase, especially for buyers looking at the Pro and Pro Max models. While the upcoming flagship lineup is expected to bring major camera improvements, those upgrades may come at a higher cost.

According to tipster Kartikey Singh, Xiaomi may raise prices across the entire Xiaomi 18 range by around 10 percent. If accurate, this would mean the Xiaomi 18 Pro could move closer to the current price level of the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, while the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max may be priced similarly to the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, at least in the Chinese market.

The main reason behind the increase is said to be the use of more advanced camera technology. Smartphone makers are investing heavily in larger sensors, better zoom systems, improved image processing, and more premium hardware, but these upgrades are becoming more expensive to produce. As a result, flagship phones from several brands are gradually becoming pricier with each new generation.

For Xiaomi, this could mark a shift in how its premium devices are positioned. The company has often been known for offering strong hardware at competitive prices, but its high-end Ultra and Pro Max models are now moving deeper into the premium flagship category.

In Europe, Xiaomi’s top-end models have still managed to remain relatively competitive compared with some rival Chinese ultra-premium smartphones. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra, for example, is currently among the more affordable ultra-flagship options in the region, with pricing in Germany sitting at around 1,300 euros, or roughly 1,480 US dollars.

However, that pricing advantage may shrink in the coming years. If the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max launches at a higher price and future models continue the same trend, Xiaomi’s flagship phones could become much closer in price to competitors such as the Vivo X300 Ultra by 2027.

For now, the Xiaomi 18 series pricing remains unofficial, but the rumored 10 percent increase suggests buyers should prepare for a more expensive lineup. The trade-off could be a stronger camera experience and more advanced flagship hardware, but Xiaomi fans hoping for the same aggressive pricing strategy may be disappointed.
