Xiaomi 18 Pro Leak Hints at Underwhelming Chipset Performance

Xiaomi 18 Pro Leak Reveals Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Performance and Key Specs

A new Xiaomi device has appeared in a Geekbench listing, and the details strongly suggest it could be the upcoming Xiaomi 18 Pro. The device is identified by the model number M610BB, with system information pointing to Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset, internally labeled SM8950.

The listing gives an early look at what Xiaomi may be preparing for its next premium flagship. According to the benchmark data, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 is paired with an Adreno 845 GPU and uses a 3+3+2 CPU core layout. The configuration includes three cores running at 3.74 GHz, three mid-tier performance cores at 4.03 GHz, and two prime cores reaching up to 5.01 GHz.

In Geekbench 7, the alleged Xiaomi 18 Pro achieved a single-core score of 3,220 and a multi-core score of 9,646. The test device was running Android 17, suggesting that Xiaomi’s next flagship could launch with the latest version of Android-based software. The listing also shows 14.8 GB of available memory, which usually points to a 16 GB RAM configuration once system reservations are taken into account.

One of the more interesting details is how closely the CPU setup appears to match the rumored Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, also known as SM8975. Both chips are expected to share similar CPU clock speeds, but the main difference may come down to graphics performance. The standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 reportedly uses the Adreno 845 GPU, while the higher-end Extreme version is expected to feature the more powerful Adreno 850.

If this information is accurate, Qualcomm may be changing its flagship chip strategy. In previous years, premium variants often came with boosted CPU and GPU speeds. This time, the separation between the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 could rely more heavily on GPU differences rather than overall CPU frequency.

The rumored Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 may be reserved for a larger and more expensive model, possibly the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. That would allow Xiaomi to create a clearer performance gap between its flagship devices, with the Xiaomi 18 Pro offering top-tier speed and the Pro Max targeting users who want the strongest gaming and graphics performance.

Still, early benchmark leaks should always be treated with caution. Pre-release devices often run unfinished software, and manufacturers may still adjust performance tuning before launch. Final Geekbench scores, clock speeds, RAM options, and chipset branding could change by the time Xiaomi officially announces the Xiaomi 18 Pro.

Even so, this early listing suggests that the Xiaomi 18 Pro could be a major Android flagship contender, combining next-generation Qualcomm hardware, high clock speeds, 16 GB of RAM, and Android 17 out of the box. If Xiaomi continues its usual focus on performance, display quality, camera upgrades, and fast charging, the Xiaomi 18 Pro could become one of the most closely watched flagship phones of its launch cycle.
