Xiaomi 17 Max Leak Points to a Huge 6.9-Inch Display and 8,000mAh Battery
Xiaomi may be preparing one of its biggest flagship phones yet. New leaks suggest the Xiaomi 17 Max could launch in China within the next few weeks, bringing a massive 6.9-inch screen and an even more impressive 8,000mAh battery.
The Xiaomi 17 Max is expected to be a larger version of the compact Xiaomi 17 flagship. While the standard Xiaomi 17 focuses on a smaller, premium form factor, the Max model appears aimed at users who want a bigger display, longer battery life, and a more entertainment-friendly smartphone experience.
If the leaked details are accurate, the 8,000mAh battery could become one of the main selling points of the Xiaomi 17 Max. A battery this large would make the device especially appealing for heavy users, mobile gamers, travelers, and anyone who wants a phone that can last well beyond a full day of use.
The Xiaomi 17 Max is currently expected to debut in China sometime in May. There is also talk of a possible global release, although the exact markets remain unclear. In Xiaomi’s launch strategy, “global” can refer to wider availability in regions such as Europe, parts of Asia, or India, so more details will likely emerge once the company finalizes its rollout plans.
A wider launch would not be surprising, as the smaller Xiaomi 17 is already available outside China. If Xiaomi decides to bring the 17 Max to more markets, it could attract buyers looking for a large-screen Android flagship with exceptional battery capacity.
Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro global launch also expected soon
Alongside the Xiaomi 17 Max, Xiaomi is also expected to introduce the Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro for global markets. Recent leaks point to a possible May 28 launch date for the 17T series.
The Xiaomi 17T lineup is expected to replace the Xiaomi 15T and Xiaomi 15T Pro. Xiaomi appears to be skipping the 16T name entirely, likely to align the T-series with the naming of the rest of its flagship family.
Both phones are expected to offer large batteries, high-refresh-rate displays, MediaTek Dimensity chipsets, and upgraded camera hardware. The standard Xiaomi 17T is rumored to start at €749, while the more powerful Xiaomi 17T Pro could begin at €999.
The Xiaomi 17T is expected to feature a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It may be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra, paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.
For photography, the Xiaomi 17T could include a 50MP Light Fusion 800 main camera, a 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 32MP front-facing camera. Battery life should also be a major highlight, with leaks suggesting a 6,500mAh battery and 67W fast charging.
The Xiaomi 17T Pro is expected to step things up with a larger 6.83-inch OLED display and a faster 144Hz refresh rate. It may use the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, along with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
Camera upgrades on the Pro model are expected to include a 50MP Light Fusion 950 main sensor, while the telephoto, ultrawide, and selfie cameras may remain similar to the standard model. The battery could be even larger at 7,000mAh, supported by 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
With the Xiaomi 17 Max, Xiaomi 17T, and Xiaomi 17T Pro all rumored for May, Xiaomi could be preparing a very busy launch window. The combination of giant batteries, premium displays, powerful Dimensity processors, and competitive pricing may help the company strengthen its position in the flagship Android phone market.
For buyers waiting for a big-screen Xiaomi phone with serious endurance, the Xiaomi 17 Max may be the most exciting model to watch. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro could become strong options for users who want flagship-style performance and cameras without moving into ultra-premium pricing.
