Xiaomi 17T Series Hits China With Bigger Battery and 45% Lower Price Than Global Model

Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro Arrive in China With Bigger Battery and Much Lower Prices

Xiaomi has officially brought the Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro to China, shortly after their global debut last month. This is a notable move for the brand, as Xiaomi’s T-series phones have traditionally been aimed at international markets since the lineup first appeared in 2019 with the Mi 9T.

For Chinese buyers, the arrival of the Xiaomi 17T series is especially interesting because the phones are nearly identical to their global versions, but with one major advantage: pricing. In China, the Xiaomi 17T starts at almost half the price of its European counterpart, making it one of the more aggressive flagship-style releases in Xiaomi’s current lineup.

The standard Xiaomi 17T comes with a 6.59-inch 12-bit LTPS OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra, giving it strong performance for gaming, multitasking, and everyday use.

The camera setup is also competitive. Xiaomi has equipped the 17T with a 50 MP main camera, a 12 MP ultra-wide camera, a 50 MP telephoto camera with 5x zoom, and a 32 MP front camera for selfies and video calls. That gives the device a versatile photography system, especially for users who want zoom capability without moving up to the Pro model.

The biggest change for the Chinese Xiaomi 17T is the battery. While the global version features a 6,500 mAh battery, the China model gets an upgraded 7,000 mAh capacity. That should translate into longer screen-on time, better endurance for gaming and streaming, and fewer charging breaks during the day.

The Xiaomi 17T Pro, meanwhile, appears to be unchanged compared with the international model. It features a larger 6.83-inch 12-bit LTPS OLED display with a faster 144 Hz refresh rate. Performance is handled by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, positioning the Pro model as the more powerful option in the series.

The Xiaomi 17T Pro also carries a similar camera layout to the regular model, including 50 MP, 12 MP, and 50 MP rear sensors, along with a 32 MP selfie camera. However, the Pro model uses a larger 50 MP main sensor, which should help improve image quality, particularly in low-light conditions.

Battery specifications for the Xiaomi 17T Pro remain strong. The phone includes a 7,000 mAh battery with support for 100 W wired charging and 50 W wireless charging. That combination gives users both long battery life and fast top-ups, making it a practical choice for heavy smartphone users.

The most eye-catching part of the China launch is the price. The Xiaomi 17T with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage is priced at CNY 2,999, which converts to around €385. By comparison, the same configuration is listed in Europe with a much higher suggested retail price of €749.99.

The 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage version of the Xiaomi 17T costs CNY 3,499 in China, or around €450. In Europe, that same storage variant is priced at €799.99.

The Xiaomi 17T Pro also arrives with highly competitive pricing in China:

12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage: CNY 3,999, around €515

12 GB RAM + 512 GB storage: CNY 4,499, around €580

16 GB RAM + 512 GB storage: CNY 4,799, around €615

For comparison, the 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage version of the Xiaomi 17T Pro costs €999.99 in Europe. That makes the Chinese pricing significantly more appealing and highlights the large regional price gap between Xiaomi’s domestic market and international markets.

With the Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro now available in China, the series becomes even more attractive to buyers looking for high-end displays, large batteries, capable cameras, and powerful MediaTek chipsets at competitive prices. The upgraded 7,000 mAh battery on the standard 17T also gives Chinese customers an extra reason to consider the more affordable model.
