Xgimi has introduced a brighter version of its RS30 Pro 4K laser projector in China, giving home theater fans a serious boost in picture brightness without jumping to the top of the lineup. The new model, called the Xgimi RS30 Pro High Brightness Edition, is priced at CN¥7,299, or roughly $1,092.
The biggest upgrade is right in the name. This High Brightness Edition is rated at 4,500 CVIA lumens, a major increase over the standard RS30 Pro, which launched earlier this year with 3,200 CVIA lumens. That works out to about a 40% brightness improvement, making the new version more suitable for larger screens, brighter rooms, and users who want a punchier 4K projector experience.
Interestingly, the new RS30 Pro High Brightness Edition is also rated brighter than the RS30 Pro Max, which sits higher in Xgimi’s product range and is listed at 4,100 CVIA lumens. That makes this new model especially appealing for buyers focused primarily on brightness and value.
At the heart of the projector is Xgimi’s QuaLas42 laser light system, which uses 26 laser chips to deliver its high brightness output. The projector uses a 0.47-inch DLP DMD chip and supports a native 4K resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. For viewers who want sharp detail, vibrant color, and a cinema-style image at home, those specs place it firmly in premium home theater territory.
The RS30 Pro High Brightness Edition also includes a variable iris system that can adjust between F/2.0 and F/5.0 depending on the room lighting and the content being displayed. Native contrast remains at 4,000:1, while dynamic contrast has been improved to as much as 60,000:1. By comparison, the earlier RS30 Pro offered up to 50,000:1 dynamic contrast.
Color performance is another major selling point. Xgimi says the projector covers 98% of the BT.2020 color gamut, which should help deliver rich and accurate colors for movies, streaming shows, sports, and games. It also supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and HDR Vivid, along with IMAX Enhanced certification for a more cinematic viewing experience.
The projector is designed to be flexible in real-world home setups. It comes with an integrated gimbal stand that can rotate 360 degrees horizontally and tilt 135 degrees vertically, making it easier to position without needing a complicated ceiling mount. The lens supports 1.2 to 1.5:1 optical zoom, along with vertical and horizontal lens shift.
Xgimi’s Eagle-Eye 5.0 system is also included, bringing automatic focus, keystone correction, screen alignment, and obstacle avoidance. These smart setup features are useful for users who want a big-screen experience without spending a lot of time manually adjusting the image.
Gaming is another area where the RS30 Pro High Brightness Edition looks competitive. It supports 4K input at 120Hz through HDMI 2.1, along with VRR, ALLM, and AMD FreeSync Premium. These features are aimed at console and PC gamers who want smoother motion, reduced tearing, and lower input lag during fast-paced gameplay.
Inside, the projector runs on a MediaTek MT9681 processor, paired with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Connectivity includes two HDMI 2.1 ports, with one supporting eARC, plus one USB 3.0 port and one USB 2.0 port. Wireless options include Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.
Audio is handled by a pair of 12W Harman Kardon speakers, delivering a combined 24W output. The projector also supports Dolby Audio and DTS, so users can expect better sound than what is typically found in basic projector speakers. For a more immersive setup, the eARC-enabled HDMI port can be used with compatible soundbars or home theater systems.
Despite its high brightness rating, the projector remains fairly compact. It measures 298 x 249 x 190 mm and weighs 4.9 kg. Xgimi lists operating noise at 28dB or lower, which should help keep fan noise from becoming distracting during movies or gaming sessions.
The standard RS30 Pro originally launched at CN¥8,822, or around $1,320, before dropping to about CN¥7,499 with a national subsidy in China. The new High Brightness Edition arrives at CN¥7,299, making it a strong option for buyers who want more brightness at a lower launch price.
For now, Xgimi has only announced the RS30 Pro High Brightness Edition for the Chinese market. The company has not confirmed whether this brighter 4K laser projector will be released globally.
