Epson Launches Three New 4K Laser Projectors for More Affordable Home Theater Setups
Epson is widening its home cinema lineup with three new 4K HDR laser projectors designed for viewers who want a big-screen theater experience without stepping up to the brand’s higher-priced premium models. The new Home Cinema LS5000, LS6000, and LS7500 bring laser projection, 4K support, and large image sizes to more accessible price points, starting at $1,999.99.
The new projectors sit below Epson’s existing LS11000, which remains available at a much higher $4,499.99 price. With these latest additions, Epson is clearly targeting home theater fans who want strong brightness, long-lasting laser light sources, and flexible installation options at a lower cost.
The Epson Home Cinema LS5000 is the entry-level model in the new lineup, priced at $1,999.99. It delivers up to 2,500 lumens of brightness and uses Epson’s 3-chip 3LCD projection system, a technology known for producing vibrant colors without the rainbow artifacts sometimes associated with single-chip DLP projectors.
The LS5000 supports 4K HDR content and includes HDMI 2.1 connectivity with support for 4K at 120Hz, making it a compelling option for movie lovers and gamers alike. It can project images up to 300 inches, giving users the flexibility to create a truly cinematic screen size at home. For a 120-inch image, the projector needs roughly 11.5 feet of distance, thanks to its 1.32 to 2.15 throw ratio.
Epson has also included manual lens shift, making setup easier in rooms where the projector cannot be placed perfectly centered. Bluetooth support is available as well, allowing users to connect headphones for private late-night viewing.
Stepping up in the range, the Epson Home Cinema LS6000 is priced at $2,199.99 and keeps many of the same core features as the LS5000 while significantly increasing brightness. This model is rated at up to 3,400 lumens, making it better suited for rooms with some ambient light or for users who prefer a brighter image on larger screens.
Like the LS5000, the LS6000 supports 4K HDR, HDMI 2.1, and 4K 120Hz input, making it suitable for modern entertainment setups that include streaming devices, Blu-ray players, and current-generation gaming consoles. Its 3LCD engine is designed to deliver strong color performance, which could help it stand out against competing DLP projectors in a similar price range.
Epson does note that these new models have lower contrast ratios than the more expensive LS11000. That means black levels may not be as deep as those found on the premium model, but the trade-off is a much lower price and higher brightness on select versions.
The top model in the new trio is the Epson Home Cinema LS7500, priced at $2,699.99. It is the brightest of the three, reaching up to 3,500 lumens, and is designed with a shorter throw ratio of 1.0 to 1.3. This allows it to project a 120-inch image from about 8.8 feet away.
That shorter throw distance makes the LS7500 especially useful for smaller home theater rooms where a traditional long-throw projector may be harder to position. While it is not an ultra-short-throw projector meant to sit directly under a screen, it offers more flexibility than the LS5000 and LS6000 for users working with limited space.
All three new Epson 4K laser projectors are built around laser light sources, which typically offer longer life, faster startup, and more consistent brightness compared to older lamp-based projectors. Combined with support for large screen sizes up to 300 inches, the LS5000, LS6000, and LS7500 are aimed at buyers who want a more immersive viewing experience than a standard TV can provide.
