Hytale Dev Puts $15,000 Bounty on New Boss—But Only If Players Beat It the Hard Way

Hytale Director Offers $15,000 for First Streamed Gobliterator Defeat Under Brutal Rules

Hytale’s upcoming Chapter 1 update is already drawing major attention, and now there is an extra reason for players to start preparing. Game Director Simon Collins-Laflamme has announced a high-stakes challenge tied to one of the game’s newest threats: the Gobliterator.

The first streamer to defeat the Gobliterator boss under a strict set of conditions will win $15,000. It is not enough to simply beat the boss, though. This challenge is designed for players who want to prove true mastery of Hytale’s combat, survival mechanics, and boss strategy.

The Gobliterator will arrive with Chapter 1 and is expected to be one of the update’s standout encounters. The boss fight will reportedly include multiple phases, giving players more than a simple damage race to overcome. A harder version of the battle will also be available, and that is where the $15,000 challenge comes in.

To qualify, players must defeat the Gobliterator on Hard Mode while completing the run in Hardcore Mode. The attempt must be done solo, meaning no teammates or outside help. Players are also banned from using armor, potions, or glitches. Iron weapons from Exploration Mode are allowed, giving challengers at least some room to prepare, but the restrictions still make the task extremely demanding.

The entire attempt must be streamed, allowing the run to be reviewed and verified afterward. Collins-Laflamme has also made it clear that players cannot use Creative Mode to skip ahead or gain an unfair advantage.

The announcement has sparked excitement across the Hytale community. Many players are already talking about training routes, combat strategies, and possible ways to survive the Gobliterator’s attack patterns without relying on armor or consumables. For competitive players and content creators, the challenge could become one of the biggest early moments of Hytale Chapter 1.

Still, some details remain unclear. Players are asking whether the no-armor rule applies to the entire run or only to the Gobliterator boss fight itself. There are also questions about who qualifies as a “streamer.” For example, it has not yet been confirmed whether someone can create a channel and stream for the first time specifically for this challenge, or whether participants need an existing audience or streaming history.

Collins-Laflamme is expected to release a more complete version of the rules before Chapter 1 launches. The update is currently scheduled for October 12, 2026.

With a $15,000 prize on the line and one of Hytale’s toughest boss fights at the center of the challenge, the race to defeat the Gobliterator could become a major event for the game’s community. Whether the prize goes to an established creator or an unknown player with the perfect strategy, the challenge is already building anticipation for Hytale’s next big chapter.
