Epson Unveils New High-Brightness Q Series 4K Laser Projectors

Epson has expanded its projector lineup with the introduction of its Q series, which features three high-end laser projectors aimed at providing an immersive home theater experience. The series includes the Epson QB1000, QL3000, and QL7000 models, all offering impressive 4K resolution at 3,840 x 2,160 pixels.

Home theater enthusiasts can expect a smooth and vibrant picture with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The laser light technology not only allows for superior image quality but also boasts a lasting performance with an estimated lifetime of up to 20,000 hours. Furthermore, adherence to ISO standards for white brightness and IDMS standards for color brightness ensures a vivid and accurate visual feast.

The entry-level QB1000 comes with 3,300 lumens of brightness, making it a solid starting point for those venturing into high-definition projection. Climbing up the range, the QL3000 offers a luminance of 6,000 lumens, and at the top, the QL7000 impresses with a striking 10,000 lumens, designed to maintain clarity in various lighting conditions.

Versatility is key in these projectors, with support for HDR10, HDR, and HLG, optimizing them for a plethora of content. Additionally, they utilize the dual-micro lens array to project sizable images, reaching up to 300 inches in width. All this visual prowess is refined by Epson’s QXZ Picture Processor, which elevates brightness, color fidelity, and contrast. Users will appreciate the convenience of motorized lens shift for optimal image placement.

For those seeking the best in connectivity, the projectors are equipped with dual 40 Gbps HDMI 2.1 ports. The QB1000 model specifically includes HDMI 2.1 ARC/eARC compatibility, which could be particularly alluring for gamers due to the inclusion of Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) and a low input lag under 20 ms.

Epson’s latest projectors are designed to complement smart home setups, integrating smoothly with Control4 and Crestron systems. However, it’s important to note these projectors do not currently support other smart home ecosystems like Google Home or Apple HomeKit.

The projectors come with different price points reflecting their capabilities: the QB1000 at $7,999, the QL3000 at $14,999, and the QL7000—which offers the highest brightness level—at $29,999. Prospective buyers should be aware that the QL3000 and QL7000 are sold as body only, which means they do not include a lens. The good news is that they are compatible with any of Epson’s range of High Precision Lenses, allowing users to customize their experience.

Slated for release in October, the Epson Q series projectors are positioned as premium choices for those dedicated to creating the ultimate home theater environment. Whether a film aficionado, a gaming enthusiast, or someone who enjoys big-screen entertainment, the new Epson Q series projectors bring cinema-quality visuals to the comfort of one’s living room.
