Xbox is taking significant strides toward a multi-platform strategy, aiming to bring both classic and fresh titles to various consoles, including the PS5. Following the successful introduction of Forza Horizon 5 to the PS5, more games are in the pipeline. Notably, two unannounced titles are hinted at by a Senior Game Producer from Xbox Studios, reflecting the company’s expanding vision.
The hint comes from iAsia Brown’s LinkedIn profile, where she mentions her role in leading development for two cross-platform games slated for a 2026 release. While the specifics remain under wraps, speculation is brewing around potential candidates like Gears of War: E-Day and State of Decay 3, rumored to be among the titles heading to PS5 around the same time.
An array of games are already available or expected soon on PlayStation consoles, such as Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, Age of Mythology Retold, Gears of War: Reloaded, Doom: The Dark Ages, and Hellblade II: Senua’s Saga. There’s also buzz about Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Starfield possibly joining the lineup.
Parallel to Xbox’s efforts, Sony is pursuing a similar path for its PlayStation games. The company is looking for someone to spearhead its global commercial strategy for deploying PlayStation Studios titles across platforms like Steam, the Epic Games Store, Xbox, Nintendo, and mobile. This expansion is evident with the announcement of Helldivers 2 coming to Xbox Series consoles in August.
These strategic moves reflect an exciting time in the gaming world as more titles become accessible across different platforms, offering gamers diverse experiences like never before.
