Vivo X Fold 6 camera and display details revealed ahead of expected launch
Vivo is building momentum for its next premium foldable phone, the Vivo X Fold 6, and the latest official details suggest it could be one of the most camera-focused foldables of 2026. The company has already confirmed that the device will run OriginOS 6 Fold, a version of its software designed specifically for large-screen foldable smartphones. It will also be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super Edition chipset, positioning it as a high-performance flagship built for multitasking, gaming, photography, and productivity.
The biggest highlight so far is the camera system. Vivo has revealed that the X Fold 6 will feature a 200MP Samsung HPB main camera with a large 1/1.4-inch sensor and an f/1.68 aperture. This setup should help the phone capture more light, improve detail, and deliver stronger results in low-light conditions. For a foldable phone, where camera hardware can often be limited by slim designs, this is a major specification.
The Vivo X Fold 6 will also include a Zeiss APO periscope telephoto camera powered by a 50MP Sony LYT-602 sensor. This telephoto camera is expected to improve zoom photography, portrait shots, and long-distance image quality. Both the main camera and telephoto lens will support CIPA 4.5-rated stabilization, which should help reduce blur in photos and make videos smoother, especially when shooting handheld.
Portrait photography appears to be a major focus for the X Fold 6. Vivo says the device will support portrait focal lengths ranging from 23mm to 100mm, with 50MP output across those focal lengths. This gives users more flexibility when capturing close-up portraits, wider environmental shots, or more compressed telephoto-style images.
Another standout feature is what Vivo describes as a full-focal-length zoom flash. The company claims the X Fold 6 is the only foldable phone with this type of flash system, designed to improve night portraits at different zoom levels. If it works as promised, this could make the phone especially appealing to users who often take portraits in restaurants, city streets, events, or other dimly lit environments.
For users who want even more reach, the Vivo X Fold 6 will support the Vivo Zeiss Teleconverter G2. With this accessory, the phone can achieve an equivalent focal length of 200mm, giving mobile photographers more room to experiment with distant subjects, compressed perspectives, and creative zoom shots.
The display specifications are also impressive. Vivo has confirmed that the X Fold 6 will feature an 8.02-inch inner folding display using Samsung’s M14 light-emitting material. Both the inner and outer screens will support up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness, which should make the device easier to use outdoors under bright sunlight. At the same time, the displays can go as low as 1 nit, making them more comfortable for nighttime reading or low-light use.
With its advanced camera hardware, high-brightness displays, foldable-optimized software, and powerful MediaTek chipset, the Vivo X Fold 6 is shaping up to be a serious contender in the flagship foldable phone market. Vivo has not yet announced an exact launch date, but the device is expected to debut in China in June 2026.
