Vivo Debuts Affordable Smartphone With a Sleek iPhone 17e-Inspired Design

Vivo T5e Launches as a Budget Smartphone With Big Battery, 90Hz Display, and Familiar Camera Styling

Vivo has expanded its T5 series with the launch of the Vivo T5e, a new entry-level smartphone aimed at buyers who want a modern design, a large display, and dependable battery life without spending too much. The phone joins the existing Vivo T5 lineup, which already includes models such as the Vivo T5 Pro 5G, Vivo T5x 5G, Vivo T5, and Vivo T5 Lite.

One of the most noticeable features of the Vivo T5e is its rear design. The phone adopts a clean camera layout that appears inspired by Apple’s recent iPhone design language, giving it a more premium look despite its budget pricing. On the back, the Vivo T5e carries a single 13 MP rear camera accompanied by an LED flash. For selfies, video calls, and basic social media use, there is a 5 MP front-facing camera.

The Vivo T5e is powered by the Unisoc T7225 chipset, which places it firmly in the entry-level smartphone category. It is paired with 4 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64 GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage. Vivo has also included support for expandable storage through a microSD card slot, making it more practical for users who need extra space for photos, videos, and apps.

On the front, the device features a 6.74-inch LCD display with an HD+ resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. While it is not a Full HD panel, the 90 Hz refresh rate should make scrolling and general navigation feel smoother than standard 60 Hz displays. This makes the Vivo T5e a suitable option for everyday tasks such as browsing, messaging, video streaming, and light app usage.

Battery life is another key selling point. The Vivo T5e packs a large 5,500 mAh battery, which should comfortably last through a full day of regular use and possibly longer depending on usage habits. However, charging speed is limited to 15 W wired charging, so users should not expect particularly fast top-ups.

The phone runs Origin OS 6.0 out of the box. Vivo has not provided clear details about long-term software update support for the device, so buyers looking for guaranteed Android version upgrades or extended security patches may want to keep that in mind.

In terms of durability and build, the Vivo T5e measures 16.7 x 7.69 x 0.89 cm and weighs around 199 grams. It also comes with MIL-STD-810H certification, which suggests added resistance against certain environmental stresses. The device is further equipped with an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance, offering basic protection against dust and water splashes.

Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and standard connectivity options expected in a budget Android smartphone.

The Vivo T5e is available in two color choices: Aero Blue and Shadow Grey. In India, the smartphone is priced at ₹13,999 for the single 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage variant. Buyers can purchase the device through Vivo India’s official sales channels.

With its large battery, 90 Hz display, stylish design, expandable storage, and affordable price, the Vivo T5e is positioned as a practical budget smartphone for users who prioritize everyday reliability over high-end performance.
