Vanguard International Semiconductor has confirmed that a fire broke out late on August 27 on the roof of its Wafer Fab 3 facility in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. According to the company, the incident was handled quickly and did not cause a major disruption to production line operations.
The semiconductor manufacturer said it activated its emergency response procedures immediately after the fire was detected. Employees at the plant were evacuated as a safety precaution, and the situation was brought under control without any reported major impact on wafer manufacturing activities.
The Taoyuan facility is part of Vanguard International Semiconductor’s chip production network, making any incident at the site closely watched by the semiconductor industry.
