Upgraded Classic Casio G-Shocks Are Heading to the U.S.

Casio is getting ready to bring three refreshed G-Shock favorites to the US, giving longtime fans a reason to pay attention and new buyers an easy way into some of the brand’s most recognizable designs. The incoming models are the GW2310U-1, GW6900U-1, and GX56UBB-1. All three debuted in Japan in January 2026, and they’re now expected to show up for official purchase in Casio’s US online store soon.

What makes these releases worth watching is that they aren’t brand-new designs—they’re upgrades to proven classics. Each is a “U” version, meaning it uses a newer internal module and switches to an LED backlight instead of the older electroluminescent (EL) style. That change is aimed at better power efficiency, which fits perfectly with the solar charging focus these models are known for.

The Casio G-Shock GW2310U-1 is an updated take on the GW2310-1 from 2009. It keeps the same tough, round digital look with a bold black resin case made for daily wear. Feature-wise, it checks the boxes G-Shock buyers typically want: radio-controlled timekeeping for accuracy, a stopwatch, and five daily alarms. It also delivers 200-meter water resistance and Casio’s Tough Solar charging, making it a strong option for anyone who wants a durable, low-maintenance watch. Pricing in the US is already taking shape, too, as the GW2310U-1 has been listed by US retailer Arizona Fine Time at $155.

Next up, the Casio G-Shock GW6900U-1 follows the same formula with a different fan-favorite silhouette. It’s based on the GW6900-1, also originally released in 2009, and carries the signature “Triple Graph” design. The watch features a chunky black resin bezel similar in vibe to the GW2310U-1, but stands out with green-tinted inset dials that give it a distinct G-Shock personality. Like the other models in this upgraded trio, it’s radio-controlled, includes a precise stopwatch and multiple alarms, runs on Tough Solar power, and is water resistant down to 200 meters. In the US, the GW6900U-1 is expected to retail for $155.

Rounding out the group is the Casio G-Shock GX56UBB-1, a stealthy upgrade based on the GX56BB-1 from 2016. This one is instantly recognizable thanks to its large, rectangular “big case” design. The GX56UBB-1 sticks to an all-black theme, extending even to the display with a black background for a darker, more tactical look. It includes world time, a stopwatch, alarms, and Tough Solar charging—making it well-suited for travelers, outdoor use, and anyone who prefers a bold wrist presence. In the US, it’s expected to retail for $165, and it has already appeared in parts of Europe at €159.

For now, the only real unknown is timing. While the watches are expected to arrive through Casio’s official US online store, there’s no confirmed release date yet. If you’ve been waiting for upgraded Casio G-Shock classics with newer modules, improved backlighting efficiency, radio-controlled accuracy, and solar charging, these three models are shaping up to be some of the most appealing G-Shock releases headed to the US in 2026.
