AMD’s Ryzen 5 9600X is making waves with a significant price drop, now available for around €200, a striking €100 reduction since its launch. This six-core, 12-thread processor, based on the Zen 5 architecture, first hit the market in August 2024 at €299. Recent cuts have cemented its status as an affordable powerhouse in Germany.
Price-tracking platforms reveal that the 9600X dipped to €200, marking a new low. For even more value, the tray version is slightly under €200, while the boxed edition stands at €204.89.
In North America, buyers enjoy further savings since the €200 price includes a 20% VAT, translating to roughly $188-$193 USD. This marks a significant $75-$80 decrease compared to the US launch price. The 9600X, successor to the Ryzen 5 7600X—currently priced just under $200 in Germany—offers noticeable enhancements in gaming and productivity.
Interestingly, in the US, the 9600X is available for about $185 on popular retail sites, positioning it as an excellent choice for budget-conscious gamers. While currently one of the most economical options in the Zen 5 lineup, the non-X version isn’t widely available.
Anticipation surrounds the unreleased Ryzen 5 9600X3D, initially expected in Q1 2025. Meanwhile, AMD is reportedly developing the Gorgon Point APU lineup, set to adopt the Ryzen 9000G naming.
For those eyeing the 9600X, now is the perfect opportunity to invest. Pair it with an affordable 600 or 800 series motherboard for even more savings. Ideal GPU companions include AMD’s upcoming RX 9060 XT or NVIDIA’s RTX 5060 Ti, already available since April.
This drop in price makes the Ryzen 5 9600X a compelling choice for those seeking performance without breaking the bank.
