Ultimate Ears has launched its newest portable Bluetooth speaker, the Miniroll, which aims to capture attention with its compact design and enhanced features. This latest release replaces the Roll 2, a product that dates back to 2016.
The Miniroll, touted as Ultimate Ears’ smallest portable Bluetooth speaker, sports a familiar round design with prominent volume buttons on its surface—reminiscent of its Roll series predecessors. Crafted from recycled plastic and polyester, the Miniroll is offered in four appealing colors: Gentle Black, Majestic Blue, Calming Pink, and Revive Gray.
Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the Miniroll packs functionality into its compact frame. It features a recessed power button, a play/pause button, and a USB-C port for convenient charging. Rated IP67 for dust and water resistance, it surpasses the Roll 2’s IPX7 rating and can endure drops from heights up to 1.2 meters. However, unlike its predecessor, the Miniroll doesn’t float and lacks the bungee cord, replacing it with a flexible silicone strap for easy attachment to various items.
The Miniroll boasts an impressive 12-hour battery life and a Bluetooth range of up to 40 meters. Leveraging Auracast technology, it allows for seamless pairing with an unlimited number of Miniroll speakers, although it’s not compatible with the BOOM line of speakers.
