Ugreen DXP4800 GT Debuts With AMD Ryzen Power, Dual 10GbE, and U.2 SSD Support
Ugreen has introduced a new 4-bay NAS system in China, expanding its storage lineup with the DXP4800 GT. This model brings a fresh design, AMD Ryzen hardware, faster networking, and support for high-performance U.2 SSDs, making it an interesting option for users who need reliable storage for backups, media libraries, small business files, or demanding read and write workloads.
The DXP4800 GT joins Ugreen’s existing DXP4800 range, which already includes Intel-based models. This new version takes a different direction by using an AMD Ryzen Embedded R2514 processor. While this chip is not as powerful on paper as the processors found in some other DXP4800 variants, it still gives the NAS enough performance for everyday network storage tasks, file sharing, media handling, and multi-user access.
One of the first things that sets the Ugreen DXP4800 GT apart is its appearance. Instead of the silver finish used on earlier models, this NAS comes with a black-and-gold chassis that gives it a more premium and distinctive look. For users who keep their NAS visible on a desk, shelf, or home office setup, the updated design may be a welcome change.
Storage flexibility is a major highlight. The NAS includes four drive bays with support for up to four 3.5-inch SATA hard drives. However, the first two bays also support U.2 SSDs, which gives the DXP4800 GT an advantage for users who want faster sustained read and write performance than standard SATA drives can typically provide. This makes it more appealing for workloads such as large file transfers, video editing storage, virtualization, and frequent data access.
The device is offered with either 8GB or 16GB of DDR4 memory, and ECC support is included for improved data reliability. ECC memory can help detect and correct certain memory errors, which is especially useful in a NAS system where data integrity matters. Ugreen has also included 64GB of built-in flash storage, along with two extra M.2 SSD slots for additional high-speed storage or caching options.
Connectivity is another strong point of the DXP4800 GT. Ugreen has equipped the rear of the NAS with two 10GbE ports, giving users significantly faster network performance compared to typical 1GbE or 2.5GbE connections. Dual 10GbE is especially useful for creative professionals, home lab users, and small teams that frequently move large files across a local network.
The port selection continues with a 10Gbps USB-A port, two USB 2.0 ports, and an HDMI output on the back. On the front, the NAS adds another 10Gbps USB-A port, a 10Gbps USB-C port, a microSD card reader, and status indicators for both the drive bays and Ethernet connection. This setup makes it easier to connect external drives, memory cards, and other accessories without needing to reach behind the device.
The Ugreen DXP4800 GT is currently available in China with a starting price of 2,681 yuan, which is roughly around $394. For comparison, other DXP4800 models are priced much higher in some international markets, making the GT an attractive option if it reaches more regions at a competitive price.
With its AMD Ryzen processor, dual 10GbE networking, support for U.2 SSDs, ECC memory, and four-bay storage design, the Ugreen DXP4800 GT looks like a capable NAS for users who want a balance of speed, reliability, and expandability. It may not be the most powerful model in the DXP4800 family, but its storage features and upgraded networking make it one of the more interesting additions to Ugreen’s NAS lineup.
