Trek Bicycle has just rolled out two exciting new trail platforms: the Fuel and Fuel+. These models have been revamped from the ground up, offering a fresh approach to frame geometry and modular configurations with EX, MX, and LX variants. While the Fuel is a classic analog bike, its electric sibling, the Fuel+, boasts a robust TQ HPR60 motor and a larger 580Wh battery, offering the option to boost power even further with Trek’s 160Wh Range Extender.
The new lineup is thoughtfully divided into three distinct variants. The EX setup provides a balanced ride with 145mm rear and 150mm front suspension. For those seeking versatility, the MX configuration utilizes mixed wheel sizes and a more dynamic shock curve. On the other hand, the LX variant is crafted for those craving a longer travel experience, with 160mm rear and 170mm front suspension.
Trek has also integrated these new bikes into their Project One MTB program, allowing riders to tailor components such as the drivetrain, suspension, and wheels to their liking. High-end models like the Fuel, Fuel+, and Supercaliber are available in carbon, with the Fuel 9 version offered in aluminum.
A standout feature for the Fuel+ is its transition from the previous Fuel EXe platform, maintaining the strong 60Nm HPR60 motor while upgrading to a 580Wh battery. This enhancement promises better performance under load and extended range for those epic trail adventures. Select models, like the 9.8 and 9.9, come equipped with an integrated LED display from TQ.
Additional frame updates include a universal dropper post fit and clever internal storage solutions, alongside options for adjustable geometry through different rocker links and cockpit setups. Both models employ the innovative Zero Stack headset standard.
These cutting-edge Fuel and Fuel+ bikes are now available at Trek retailers and online in specific markets, inviting riders to experience the latest in trail biking technology.
