The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero and Trails to Azure are coming to PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 in September
NIS America has announced that The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero and The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure will launch for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 on September 10, 2026.
Known together as the Crossbell duology, these two fan-favorite RPGs hold a special place in the Trails series. Originally released in the West for PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch in 2023, the upcoming versions are designed to take advantage of newer hardware with a range of technical upgrades.
Players on PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 can look forward to support for up to 4K resolution, smoother gameplay at up to 120 FPS, High-Speed Mode, and the ability to switch between original and enhanced textures. These improvements should make exploring Crossbell feel sharper, faster, and more polished than ever before.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version will also include mouse support, giving players another way to navigate menus and interact with the game world. This added control option could be especially useful for players who enjoy a more precise setup while managing party details, quests, and exploration.
Trails from Zero introduces players to Lloyd Bannings, a young detective assigned to the Special Support Section in Crossbell. Alongside his teammates, Lloyd works to protect the city’s citizens while uncovering corruption, political tension, and hidden threats beneath Crossbell’s surface.
Trails to Azure continues the story with even higher stakes. As the Special Support Section faces new dangers, the conflict expands beyond the city and begins to affect the wider continent. For many fans, Azure is considered one of the strongest chapters in the Trails franchise thanks to its emotional storytelling, world-building, and dramatic twists.
The PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 release will be available digitally, while collectors can also pick up a physical bundle that includes both games. A Limited Edition is also planned, featuring extras such as an art book, soundtrack CDs, and additional collectible items.
With upgraded visuals, improved performance, and both games packaged for modern platforms, The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero and Trails to Azure will give longtime fans a fresh reason to return to Crossbell.
