TOPC TXA2 Mini Workstation Debuts With Ryzen AI Power and 192GB Unified Memory
TOPC has unveiled the TXA2, a compact but extremely powerful mini workstation built around AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 processor. Designed for demanding workloads such as AI development, content creation, 3D rendering, heavy multitasking, and GPU-accelerated applications, this small-form-factor PC packs specifications usually associated with much larger desktop systems.
At the heart of the TXA2 is AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495, featuring 16 Zen 5 CPU cores and 32 threads. The processor can boost up to 5.2 GHz, giving the system strong performance for both single-threaded and multi-threaded workloads. Graphics are handled by the integrated Radeon 8065S GPU, which includes 40 RDNA 3.5 compute units. For AI-focused tasks, the built-in XDNA 2 NPU delivers up to 55 TOPS of AI performance.
One of the biggest highlights of the TOPC TXA2 is its massive 192GB of LPDDR5X-8533 unified memory. Even more impressive, up to 160GB of that memory can be assigned to the GPU. This makes the machine especially interesting for users working with large AI models, graphics-heavy applications, high-resolution media projects, or professional workloads that benefit from a large shared memory pool.
Storage flexibility is another major advantage. The TXA2 includes four M.2 2280 SSD slots, giving users plenty of room for expansion. Two of the slots support PCIe 4.0 x4 speeds, while the remaining two operate at PCIe 4.0 x2. That setup makes the system suitable for users who need fast project drives, large datasets, local AI model storage, or multiple high-capacity SSDs in a compact workstation.
Connectivity is also well covered. The mini PC includes 10Gbps and 2.5Gbps Ethernet, Wi-Fi 7, two USB4 ports, HDMI, DisplayPort, and an SD card reader. This combination should make it easy to connect high-speed storage, professional displays, networking equipment, cameras, and other workstation accessories.
The TXA2 enters a growing category of high-performance mini PCs based on AMD’s Ryzen AI Max platform. However, its pricing makes it stand out. TOPC lists the workstation with a starting price of $6,399, while a version with 4TB of storage is priced at $6,699.
That puts it below several similarly equipped compact workstations. AMD’s own Ryzen AI Halo developer platform with the same class of processor, 192GB of LPDDR5X memory, and 2TB of storage is priced at $7,299 through retail channels, making the TOPC TXA2 roughly $900 less expensive in a comparable configuration.
Other competitors are also priced higher. Minisforum’s MS-S1 MAX-P495 is listed at $7,399, while the GMKtec EVO-X5 Pro and Acemagic F9A Pro 495 come in at $6,799 and $6,499, respectively. Framework’s compact desktop option starts at $6,799 as a DIY configuration without an SSD, while a pre-built version with 2TB of storage reaches $7,449.
Another competing model, the Peladn YO2 495, launched in China at CNY 49,999, or about $7,470, with 192GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD. Against that backdrop, the TOPC TXA2 looks aggressively priced, especially considering its four M.2 SSD slots and extensive connectivity options.
Still, price should not be the only factor for buyers considering a compact AI workstation. Cooling performance, fan noise, long-term reliability, firmware updates, warranty service, driver support, and software integration can all make a major difference in professional use. A lower starting price is attractive, but users planning to rely on the system for daily production work should carefully compare overall platform quality and after-sales support.
Even so, the TOPC TXA2 is shaping up to be one of the more compelling Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 mini workstations so far. With 16 Zen 5 cores, powerful integrated Radeon graphics, a dedicated AI NPU, 192GB of unified memory, four SSD slots, Wi-Fi 7, USB4, and high-speed networking, it offers a rare combination of compact size and workstation-class capability. For creators, developers, AI researchers, and power users looking for a small but highly capable desktop, the TXA2 could be one of the most interesting new options in the premium mini PC market.
