GMKtec Evo X5 Pro Mini PC Set to Debut With 16-Core Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 at IFA 2026
GMKtec is preparing to introduce one of its most powerful mini PCs yet. The company has confirmed that the GMKtec Evo X5 Pro will make its official debut on September 5, 2026, during IFA Berlin, bringing AMD’s high-end Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 APU to the compact desktop market.
The Evo X5 Pro is shaping up to be a serious performance-focused mini PC designed for gaming, creative work, AI workloads, and demanding professional tasks. While GMKtec has not revealed the full specification sheet yet, the confirmation of AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 already gives a strong idea of what users can expect.
At the heart of the GMKtec Evo X5 Pro is AMD’s Zen 5-based Gorgon Halo platform. The Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 features 16 full Zen 5 CPU cores, making it a major step up for users who want workstation-class performance in a small form factor. The chip is designed to reach boost clocks of up to 5.2 GHz and includes 16 MB of L2 cache along with 64 MB of L3 cache.
For a mini PC, that level of CPU power is significant. It means the Evo X5 Pro should be capable of handling heavy multitasking, 3D rendering, software development, video editing, content creation, and modern gaming without needing a full-sized desktop tower.
Early leaked benchmark results have already hinted at strong performance. Previous listings connected to the Evo X5 Pro suggested a Geekbench 6 multi-core score of around 18,000 points. Since the device has not officially launched yet, final retail performance may improve further through firmware updates, cooling refinements, and system tuning.
The graphics side is just as interesting. The Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 is expected to feature the Radeon 8065S integrated GPU, based on AMD’s RDNA 3.5 architecture. This iGPU reportedly includes 40 compute units and can reach a peak clock speed of 3 GHz. That is 100 MHz higher than the Radeon 8060S found in AMD’s top Strix Halo configuration.
Because of this, the Radeon 8065S could deliver graphics performance in the same general class as a GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU, depending on cooling, power limits, memory configuration, and driver optimization. If GMKtec can manage thermals effectively inside the compact chassis, the Evo X5 Pro could become one of the most capable gaming mini PCs available.
Another major highlight is memory support. The Gorgon Halo platform can reportedly be paired with up to 192 GB of RAM. This is especially important because the integrated Radeon GPU uses shared system memory. With a large memory pool, the Evo X5 Pro could become appealing not only for gaming but also for AI applications, large language models, professional visualization, and workloads that require substantial VRAM-like capacity.
This could make the GMKtec Evo X5 Pro more than just a compact gaming machine. It may also attract developers, creators, engineers, and AI enthusiasts who want a powerful desktop system without the size, noise, or complexity of a traditional PC build.
GMKtec has not yet announced pricing for the Evo X5 Pro. However, given the premium processor, powerful integrated graphics, and potential support for up to 192 GB of DDR5 memory, this mini PC is unlikely to be inexpensive. High-capacity memory remains costly, and a fully configured model could carry a premium price tag.
For users who do not need this much performance, GMKtec already offers more affordable mini PC options such as the K8 Plus, which uses the Ryzen 7 8845HS APU and can be configured with 32 GB of RAM. That type of system is better suited for everyday productivity, media use, office work, and lighter gaming.
The Evo X5 Pro, however, is clearly targeting a different audience. With a 16-core Zen 5 APU, powerful RDNA 3.5 integrated graphics, and support for massive memory configurations, it is being positioned as a compact powerhouse for users who want desktop-grade capability in a small footprint.
