The Witch’s Bakery

The Witch’s Bakery Opens Its Oven This August

The Witch’s Bakery Release Window Confirmed for August on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S

Publisher Silver Lining Interactive and developer Sunny Lab have confirmed that The Witch’s Bakery is planned to launch in August for Windows PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

The upcoming cozy adventure RPG invites players into a warm, magical version of modern-day Paris, where baking, friendship, and emotional healing come together in a charming side-scrolling journey. Players take on the role of Lunne, a cheerful young witch who has just arrived in the city to open her very own bakery. But this is no ordinary pastry shop. Lunne has a special gift: she can look into people’s hearts and use magic to help heal their emotions.

At the center of The Witch’s Bakery is a daily life system built around three parts of the day. During the daytime, Lunne runs her bakery, prepares treats, serves customers, and works alongside a growing group of friends. In the evening, players are free to explore the streets of Paris, meet new characters, deepen relationships, uncover local secrets, and step into the troubled hearts of those who need help. At night, Lunne can rest, improve her magical abilities, decorate the bakery, and spend quiet moments in her cozy atelier.

As the days pass, the story gradually unfolds. Players will earn experience, money, and fame while expanding the bakery’s reputation and learning more about the people around them. Progress is tied not only to running a successful business, but also to understanding others and helping them face the feelings they have hidden away.

The game’s version of Paris is colorful, lively, and filled with places to discover. After finishing a shift at the bakery, Lunne can visit different districts around the city, each offering its own characters, shops, activities, and opportunities. One featured location is Le Quai des Bouquinistes in the 6th arrondissement, an area inspired by the famous riverside booksellers of Paris. Players can expect a picturesque setting filled with books, collectibles, posters, old magazines, vinyl records, and views of landmarks such as Notre-Dame.

One of the most distinctive elements of The Witch’s Bakery is its focus on emotions and vulnerability. Some characters carry feelings so deeply buried that Lunne must enter their “Heart Palace,” a magical inner world where thoughts and emotions take visible form. Inside these dreamlike spaces, Lunne encounters personified emotions and helps guide them back to where they belong.

By exploring these Heart Palaces, Lunne learns about each person’s hidden struggles and discovers the special ingredient needed to bake magical bread capable of healing them. This blend of emotional storytelling, cozy bakery management, exploration, and light RPG progression gives The Witch’s Bakery a unique identity among upcoming indie games.

With its August release window, The Witch’s Bakery is shaping up to be an appealing choice for players who enjoy cozy games, narrative adventures, magical life sims, and heartfelt RPGs. Its mix of baking, Parisian exploration, friendship-building, and emotional healing could make it one of the more charming indie releases to watch this year.
